It’s that time of the year again…
Yearly favourites is like the Oscars of blogging world. We all try so many new products thorughout the year and then try to narrow down our favourites to give you the best of the best. This year I am concetrating on the newcomers to my collection instead of rattling off the same favourites I have each year; yes Illamasqua Hollow and Antonia Burrell 7 in 1 Mask I am looking at you. These 10 products are brand new to my collection, some were sent to me by companies (marked with a *) but that is by no means why they are in this post, I am not being paid for any of these reviews and all my thoughts are as always my own.
Handbag Heroes
These two products have saved me many an early morning. The Albus & Flora balms aren’t overly wet when applied, they have a creamy formula that is packed full of anti-oxidants, vitamins and various omegas with the added benefit of SPF 30. Perfect for when you are running out the door and need a bit of colour on your lips.
When I went cruelty free I stopped using dry shampoo because know of the CF ones on the market where up to standard, then Soap&Glory created The Rushower Dry Shampoo and I could get away with not washing my hair and grabbing an extra hour in bed before work! Nothing fancy here just a product that works, doesn’t leave a white residue on your hair and smells divine.
Make Up Magic
Okay so the first one is a little bit of a cheat because it’s my favourite cream pigment formula in a different shade but Emerge by Illamasqua is the perfect under eye brightener as well as eyeshadow base, it doesn’t crease, is lightweight and easy to blend, so if you suffer from dark circles this is great little bit of magic to have in your collection.
The Vital Palette is the perfect everyday palette. I love using Bubble as a base and then blending Envision into my crease, popping on some false lashes and I’m done. Buttery shadows with no fall out and in gorgeous tones what more could you want!
Lastly lets talk about mascara, something I don’t really wear anymore due to my false lash obsession but in the early part of the year I was all over this mascara by MDM Flow. The formula isn’t overly wet which is great as it doesn’t smudge on your lid as soon as you blink, plus I prefer a slightly drier mascara and the slightly indented brush makes it easier to get to the root and coat all the lashes, so you get a lot of length as well as volume.
Everyday Essentials
Remember when you all thought I’d gone a little bit nuts because I dedicated a whole blog post to this Body Yogurt by The Bodyshop, well here it is in my yearly favourites it’s that damn good! It instantly absorbs even into damp skin, leaves your skin hydrated for 48 hours and is a non sticky gel formula, plus it’s 100% vegan.
If you are a long term follower of my blog you will know that my hair has been to hell and back so i’m always looking for the miracle products that will restore it to full health. A’kin Avocado & Calendula conditioner* is so hydrating and nourishing you would have no idea that my bleached ends were like straw! The plant proteins de-tangle and seal in moisture for silky smooth hair.
Skincare Saviours
Saving the best till last because you know I am a skincare junkie! In my bid to cut down how much plastic and waste I produce on a daily basis discovering Cheeky Wipes was the best thing that happened all year. They are made of bamboo which is not only soft but grips onto makeup and takes it off easily. I use it just like a cotton pad, soak a little micellar water on the pad, hold on the eye for a few seconds and then swipe to remove. Then I just pop it straight in the machine ready for when the next wash goes on, simple.
It wouldn’t be a yearly favourite without a face mask and the Gallinée Face Mask & Scrub* is perfect for winter skin. It combines kaolin clay and seawater minerals along with their Triple Biotic Complex to leave you with radiant skin which has been delicately exfoliated without damaging the skin surface.
Lastly the Soap&Glory Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+. Non greasy, easy to apply and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin, apply underneath your make-up for all day protection, as always nothing to fancy just a stunning product that really works.
So there you have it, my top 10 products of 2018. If you think there is a product I would love in 2019 let me know in the comments below!
