What Kate Wore Next

If you don’t follow me on Instagram or TikTok you are missing out on these outfits.

Wow, it’s been a little while since I updated my corner of the internet, life is a little hectic at the moment so I had to put a few things on the back burner, but I determined to get posting again and what better way to get back into the swing of things with a rundown of the items I’ve been wearing the most so far this summer.

First up are these two items which go perfectly together; a graphic t-shirt from The V&A and orange linen mix trousers from Marks & Spencer. I would never have dreamed of wearing something this bright a year ago but I love these and they are the perfect pop of colour for my wardrobe. They work perfectly with a white or black t-shirt and I can see them carrying on into the rest of the summer and autumn. The t-shirt was from the Fashioning Masculinities exhibition and filled a nice gap in my wardrobe for a white graphic t-shirt, it’s super soft as well.

This shirt was my mum’s originally and I have had my eye on it for a while as I could just see it’s potential in my wardrobe, so when she decided that it was ‘too young’ for her I snapped it up. I love wearing it as a mini dress (safety shorts are a must though) but I also style it open over a white t-shirt with jeans.

The UK, if you didn’t already know has seen some serious heat the last couple of weeks – global warming I’m looking at you. This slip dress that I made myself came very much in handy during the heatwave, it’s a lovely versatile piece which I can dress down, with a shirt thrown over and Toms or with heels for a more party look. The pattern is the Sadie Slip Dress by Tessuti with fabric from Minerva Crafts.

Another made by me piece, this yellow maxi skirt has been a life saviour for work, it’s the perfect smart casual option, I could even dress it up with heels if I wanted. Pattern is McCalls M8068 and fabric is from Fabrics Galore.

For work I have been living in white boxy t-shirts from Rapanui with some wide leg Marks & Spencers trousers, paired of course with my Veja‘s. What are your go to items this summer?

Keep up to date with my outfits of the day over on Instagram.
