Meet My Favourite Summer Sun Make Up Products

Letting the freckles out and about.

Summer is 100% here in London which means my make-up is getting lighter and the SPF is being applied liberally. I’m not the most exciting person when it comes to changing up my make up routine but recently I’ve been adding and taking away a few things which I thought I would share with you.

Barry M Flawless Mist & Fix|Illamasqua Cream Pigment|LA Girl Pro Conceal|ABH Modern Renaissance|Nip + Fab Foundation|Eylure Brow Pomade|Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid|Illamasqua Shadow|Yare Valley Lipbalm|Illamasqua Blusher Duo.

Let’s talk base, mainly because that’s where the biggest change has been, the last step in my morning skincare routine has gone from a facial oil to a facial SPF. The Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid is the perfect facial SPF, its absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or clogged and is SPF 50. My foundation and concealer are pretty much the same as always, I’m just applying less to make sure my freckles are shining through. I’ve switched from a cream blusher to a powder one as my cheeks become flushed a lot quicker in the sunshine so I don’t need as much colour on my cheeks to begin with, the Illamasqua ones blends easily and creates a natural colour. Once I’ve finished my whole routine then I spritz the Barry M Flawless Mist & Fix to give my makeup at least a fighting chance in the sunshine.

I have always loved the Modern Renaissance Palette mainly for the rich chocolate browns and an occasional shimmer shade on special occasions but as the weeks have got hotter I’ve been gravitating more towards the burnt orange shadow all over the lid and in the crease with a fluffy brush and then adding more definition to the outer corner with Realgar. As always I’m using Illamasqua Hollow as a base and Illamasqua Stealth as a highlight – because you’ll know I’ve been abducted by aliens when I don’t use those two. Even with the hot weather I’m still applying individual lashes, still loving the Ardell Soft Touch Trios.

Although I have natural freckles I do often add in a few extra ones, especially if I’ve accidentally been too heavy handed with he foundation. The Eylure Brow Pomade in No 30 Blonde is the perfect shade, I use an eyeliner brush to gently dot a few extra across my nose and cheeks, not everyday just when I feel like it. I’ve actually been letting my eyebrows grow wild at the moment, mainly due to laziness but I am loving just brushing them up with a spoolie and keeping my lips natural as well with just a swipe of lip balm.

How do you change up your make up routine in summer?
