The sun is starting to shine so it’s time to mix up my routine.
I am quite boring when it comes to my make up routine, cream eye base, tan crease shade with sometimes a darker shade to intensify and then a matte champagne to highlight. Foundation, concealer, false lashes. Done. So I was quite surprised that when I sat down to do my make up the other day I was drawn to some different shades and products than usual.

I always start off with my eyes and I switched out my old favourite Hollow for a new pigment called Emerge which is the perfect peach colour for neutralising any dark tones on your eyes. I then set this with Bubble by Illamasqua (I don’t think it’s available anymore but its a warm toned peach). Then in the crease I blended with a fluffy brush Illamasqua Slink from the Complement palette (again discontinued but can be brought as an individual shadow) it’s a gorgeous champagne shimmer colour. Then along my lash line to help my falsies blend better I smudged in a thin line of Illamasqua Drop which is a deep warm brown. Before finishing the eyes with my Ardell Duralash Soft Touch Knotted Flare Trios.
I wanted a glowing base so again went back into my collection to retrieve an old favourite the No7 Skin Illuminator, it’s the perfect base to give you that natural glow and is so lightweight. I then blended with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush the Nip + Fab Foundation. It’s lightweight but still covers the redness in my cheeks and doesn’t oxidise after application. To conceal I used the ReCover concealer, it’s a full coverage without creasing and settling. I did add a cream blusher but it’s not Cruelty Free so you’ll just have to imagine.
To finish I gave my eye brows a bit of help with the Eylure Brow Pomade and spritzed the Barry M Dewy Finish Setting Spray to hold everything for the rest of the afternoon before adding a slick of my number one lip product Albus & Flora Lip Balm in Mountain Rose. It’s a lighter look then I normally wear which suits the glorious blue skies we have had recently. I have a feeling my wedding make-up may look very similar to this!
