Eylure Fleur Loves Lashes£5.25

Now i’m not normally one to buy into Youtuber products but I love lashes and seeing as I wear Eylure anyway I went ahead and picked up the Fleur Loves set from the new collection in partnership with beauty blogger and vlogger Fleur DeForce – I actually really like both her blog and Youtube.

I knew there was going to be no question about the quality of the lashes because I rate Eylure at the top of the lash game so I was more interested in the design of the lashes, these ones are a cute 3/4 quarter length strip which wing out at the sides to create a fuller set of lashes. I love that they add texture and volume to my lashes without adding length and looking fake, they help to enhance what is already there.

I would definitely repurchase these regardless of whether they have Fleurs face on them or not they are gorgeous, so easy to apply and very natural.

Have you tried any of Fleurs collection?

I Have a Pale Girl Issue|Ask Kate #1

The reason I love working in the make-up industry is that I get to help people out with make-up whether it be a client or my best friend asking me for help so I’ve created a new little blog series where I publish some of the questions I get asked and my answers!

Q. I have a pale girl issue. My foundation Revlon Colourstay has been great until a few weeks ago when it started caking in the heat. What can I wear that’s going to cover my terrible skin but still be pale?

A. I would go for a medium coverage foundation to let your skin breath a little bit but still give you a good amount of coverage. The Rimmel Wake Me Up is super hydrating for the skin and the shade Light Porclain would be perfect or the L’Oreal True Match in Rose Ivory its not as hydrating but gives great coverage.

If you’ve got a question you want answered then leave it in the comments!

Lottie London Treasure Tatts|Review

P1240370P1240036P1240022

Lottie London Treasure Tatts£9.99

Metallic transfer tattoos are everywhere and I am absolutely covered in them; so much so I have earned the nickname of hippie chick at work! I just love the whole festival vibe you get from them even when you are not at a festival.

Lottie London gives you three sheets of gold, silver and black tattoos with all different designs so there is something for everyone and its only £10 which is crazy because some of the original ones on the market are ridiculously expensive.

As someone who goes through stages of wearing jewellery these are perfect for accessorising an outfit and can last for up to a week although they do tend to fade around day three.

Do you wear transfer tatts?

Without getting mushy these girls have stuck by me through thick and thin and I would be lost without them.

We started off with a few glasses of good old bucks fizz before heading to one of my all time restaurants Brocca in St Margarets.

I went for the Coconut and Lemon Crusted Prawns followed by Braised Beef Rib with Parsnips Crisps and Wasabi Mash. Both were amazing but we skipped dessert and headed home for a spot of birthday cake.

I had such a lovely evening with my girls and they made getting a year older slightly easier!

OMG Kate’s wearing an all black outfit surprise surprise!

I love this outfit its so full of textures and the lighter boots really lift what could be a dull outfit.

I am not normally a skirt wearing person but this Brandy Melville one is the perfect black skater skirt for all occasions and it’s not crazy short either. The crop top is a little shorter than what I normally wear but doesn’t look trashy paired with the skirt because of the higher neck.

I wore this outfit for a film screening and thought it was a perfect smart casual get up.

Concealer is a must have in my day to day routine and I prefer a high coverage for both under the eyes and on any blemishes. Like with my foundations finding concealers that are light enough for my skin and are creamy enough not to drag on my dry skin is quite difficult but each one in my collection gets the job done. I haven’t reviewed all of these individually but there are plenty of mini reviews here and here.

What are your favourite concealers?

Last few sights before London|Orkney Day Five

We started our last day with another museum trip – what can I say I love museums.

The Stromness Museum is situated within the heart of the village and is full of local stories and pieces of history.

P1240193P1240194P1240289

As the weather was so lovely we just strolled throughout the village soaking up all the beautiful views.

P1240283P1240284

And made some more friends.

P1240281P1240279

We popped into Kirkwall for a spot of lunch at a lovely cafe and live music venue called The Reel before flying home to London.

P1240291

I absolutely adored my time in Orkney and my mum and I are already planning a trip back next year but this time with my sister and her family. It’s absolutely stunning and I only saw a small snippet of it.

Fossils, Travelling Bears and Long Walks|Orkney Day Four

Orkney is surprisingly easy to get around despite being a group of islands.

On our last full day of the holiday we set off to Burray to visit the Fossil and Heritage Centre.

P1240210P1240216P1240214

Full of amazing fossils and trinkets including a gorgeous piece about the travelling teddy bear Jasper.

We then went on to Hoxa Head in hopes of spotting some puffins…

No puffins but beautiful views.

P1240224P1240249

I highly recommend checking out the Hoxa Tea Rooms for tea and teacakes!

The walk back to St Margarets Hope – where the bus stop is – is long but gorgeous.

P1240264P1240251

And we made some friends along the way.

P1240253P1240271We ate at the Ferry Inn again, I opted for the Local Sausages with Clapshot Mash before returning to our rooms for our last night in Orkney.

P1240277

Make sure you haven’t missed Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

Rain and Damien Hirst|Orkney Day Three

Wednesday was a rainy day so we had to confine ourselves to indoor activities.

P1240196

Stromness has an amazing art gallery named Pier Arts Centre and we were lucky enough to be there at the same time as there Damien Hirst exhibition.

P1240200

It’s free to enter and has both permanent collections as well as installations.

P1240195P1240197P1240199

After running from shop to shop we took some time out in our hotel room before returning to the Stromness Hotel for dinner.

P1240201P1240202

I went for the Lamb Chops with Honey Mint Sauce with Chips and Salad followed by White Chocolate and Apricot Roulade both were equally amazing.

We retired back to our rooms hoping for a sunny day in the morning for more exploring.

Make sure you’ve read Day 1 and Day 2
