The festive party season is here and this is the make up look to go with it.
Even for someone who loves a minimal make up look when I think of Christmas parties I can’t help reaching for the red lipstick and shimmer shadows but I’m still looking for minimal fuss so there aren’t millions of different products. Just 8 in fact.
Illamasqua Skin Base | New CID Crystal Quartz I-Colour | Illamasqua Sangers Lipstick | Illamasqua Hollow Cream Pigment | Illamasqua Stealth Powder Shadow | No7 Skin Illuminator | Make Up Geek Wild West Powder Shadow | Ardell Soft Touch Trios (not pictured).
Base, it is no surprise it’s my favourite duo: No7 Skin Illuminator on my cheek bones, tip of the nose and forehead before buffing Illamasqua Skin Base onto my cheeks and up to under the eyes to cover my natural redness.
The eye look as always starts with Illamasqua Hollow Cream Pigment, great for covering discolouration on the lid as well as creating a smooth base and giving the powder shadows something to stick to. With a large fluffy brush I blended Wild West into the crease creating a smokey look. On the inner corner and blending into the centre I applied the New CID I-Colour in Crystal Quartz with my ring finger before using the fluffy brush to blend the cream shadow with the crease colour. Then to highlight the brow bone I used my holy grail powder shadow Stealth by Illamasqua. It helps blend any harsh lines as well as highlighting the eye brows, I use a small compact brush to apply this is sweeping motions. Finish as always with Ardell Soft Touch Trios the best lashes on the market – in my opinion.
Finish off the festive look with a classic red lip. I love the Sangers lipstick by Illamasqua because it is a gorgeous blue toned matte red that doesn’t dry your lips out and stays all day. I don’t really use a lip liner instead I use a lip brush to outline my lips and then fill in with the bullet. Clean anything up with some micellar water and you’ve got the perfect red lip.
Easy to do but makes it look like you’ve really made an effort!

Beautiful look! The red lip really pops on you.
Thank you 🙂 I don’t wear it normally but as its Christmas I couldn’t resist.
