3 Highlights from March

The best bits of the month…
March was not the greatest month if i’m being honest, I got hit with a really bad case of the blues and spent large amounts of time coming home from work and just climbing straight into bed and watching rubbish television. I’m not sure if it was the grim weather getting me down or just the general stress of both the Mr and I being in new jobs but I just felt bleurg. However the whole month wasn’t a complete write off there were some little pockets of bright blue skies and fun activities so instead of my normal five highlights.

Here are my three March highlights…

Treated my mum for mothers day. This year I decided to take my mum away for a weekend break to say thank you for being the best mum in the world. It was an amazing trip of not staring at my phone and just enjoying the moment with one of my favourite people. My sister and brother in law joined us for dinner and it was a great few days of family fun.

Put some travel plans in the diary. Even though I jet off to Italy next month I felt like my travel bug wasn’t being satisfied but luckily after a few exciting conversations with both friends and family I’ve got two more trips on the books. They’re not new places to explore but some old favourites I can’t wait to revisit – gold star if you can guess where. It’s always nice to have things to look forward to!

Started getting busy in the kitchen. Despite feeling so down in the dumps I’ve actually done so much better with my healthy eating goal. I’ve made a conscious effort to add more fruit and veg into my diet and I’m slowly moving away from the ready meal to more fresh home-cooked dishes including this delicious Asian inspired salad that I popped up on the blog. I’m still indulging a few times a week with a breakfast pastry, chocolate bar or a bag of crisps but it’s all in moderation!

April I’m off to Italy with the Mr and his family, excited for the weather to finally be warmer so I can stop wearing thermals everyday and have a few exciting London excursions to look forward to!

What are you looking forward to in April?
