Skin Care Favourites

Come take a peek at what products make my skin glow.

I love skin care, possibly more than I love make up. The best feeling is taking your make up off at the end of the day before climbing into bed. I have normal to dry skin so I tend to gravitate towards products that will hydrate my skin but I am always looking for products that are going to give my skin that glow.

Cleanse.

Sukuri Micellar Water|Aurelia Miracle Cleanser|Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean.

I am a firm believer in the double cleanse at night; it all starts with micellar water and this one from Sukiri  is fantastic, it’s packed full of aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber so it’s great for soothing sensitive skin as well as efficiently removing make up plus its vegan and carbon neutral – if you prefer an oil cleanser as your first step then I also love the Jane Scriviner Nourishing Cleanser. Then in the evening I follow this up with the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser, it’s a gorgeous gentle cream cleanser full of peptides to brighten the skin.

In the morning if I have time – I won’t lie I am guilty of just wiping a cotton pad with micellar water over my face as I run out of the door, I use the Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean. I reviewed this years ago on the blog and repurchased it recently before I went to America, it’s a cream cleanser but not as thick as the Aurelia. Like the Sukuri its packed full of natural ingredients including peaches, goji berries and ginseng to help with hydration and inner glow.

Acid Tone.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Cleansing Pads.

Now don’t get me wrong I still love the Pixi Glow Tonic but currently I am using the Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Pads, it’s quicker having the pads pre-soaked plus great for travelling! The Nip+Fab ones including glycolic acid for retexturising, hyaluronic acid to moisturise and refresh and blue daisy to soothe. I defienitly feel like I have fresher skin after using these especially in the morning, I had some  texture on my cheeks earlier in the year and introducing an acid toner into my routine has definieltey started to sort it out.

Moisturise.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Moisturiser|Yesto Carrots Night Cream.

In the morning I like something light to go underneath my foundation, but still want to feel the hydration and the F.A.B Ultra Repair Moisturiser is perfect for this. It’s only drawback is no SPF but I can add this in individually so it doesn’t annoy me too much. You know when a product just works, well this is one of them. It does exactly what it says on the tin!

In the evenings I prefer something a bit more heavy duty to really hydrate and help my skin repair whilst I’m sleeping. The Yesto Carrots doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the skin plus a little bit goes a long way and it absorbs quickly. It’s full of vitamin E and of course carrots to boost hydration.

Routine Extras.

Nip+Fab Bee Sting Fix Eye Cream|Balance Me Radiance Face Oil.

In the mornings I’ve been using the Nip+Fab Bee Sting Eye Cream; now i’m not 100% sure that eye creams work however I like to have one in my routine especially in the morning to help make my concealer application easier. I was a little sceptical about the bee sting aspect of it but there is only a little tingle when you apply it and it helps to plump the under eyes, if you are on a budget then I would say skip the eye cream but if you are a skincare fanatic like me then this one is certainly worth a try.

Something that I love using both AM and PM is the Balance Me Radiance Face Oil, it’s like magic in a bottle! 2 drops in the morning 3 drops in the evening it helps hydrate my skin and add that glow that I’m always after. If I don’t use this in my routine I can definitely tell; my skin doesn’t feel as hydrated and it doesn’t look as radiant.

Face Masks.

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask|Bee Good Necta Perfecta|No7 Hydration Mask.

I love face masks, I tend to use them 2 to 3 times a week depending on how my skin is feeling. For cleansing and detoxifying my favourite is the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask; it’s great if you don’t have a lot of time in your day as it works in 5 minutes plus it doesn’t make me feel like i’ve stripped my skin. The warmth draws out impurities from the skin so you have brighter and clearer skin straight away. If you love luxury products then I would highly recommend the Antonia Burrell Mask Supreme it’s the best thing I’ve ever used and I can’t wait to put this back into my collection – slowly saving up the pennies!

I’ve raved about the No7 Hydration Mask for so many years it’s something I will always re-purchase. It makes your skin beautifully smooth and hydrated, I use this on brides the morning of their wedding as it helps create a good glowing base for the big day. Another great mask for glowing skin is the Bee Good Necta Perfecta, it’s a multi tasking mask full of enzymes which you can use it on your face, scalp, elbows and hands. If you want one product which can do everything then this is a great one for your stash.

If you made it this far in the post congratulations and let me know your favourite skin care products.

  1. I love really skincare too; I think it’s because I had bad skin when I was younger and just think the key to good makeup application is having a good base to start with.

I’ve used that Aurelia cleanser before and really liked it, though I wish it was cheaper! I think Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish is a nice cheaper alternative, though it feels slightly less luxurious! I’m also a big fan of the Nip + Fab pads and the Pixi Glow Tonic; they’ve both done a really good job of brightening my skin.

    1. I wish it was cheaper as well, I’ve not tried the Liz Earle one – I’m not sure if its cruelty Free or not! If it is I will definitely try it out. Glow Tonic is life changing.

      Thanks for reading!
