Richmond Staycation

Who needs a vacation when you can have a staycation. 

In need of a little relaxation we booked ourselves a little staycation in the beautiful town of Richmond.

We checked into The Orange Tree Hotel for the night, it’s a beautiful boutique hotel just across from the station so perfect if you want to visit London but not pay the hefty price tag for a west end hotel.

There is an abundance of good restaurants in Richmond including this one and this one; but, seeing as the sun was shining we headed down to the river to eat alfresco at Steins.

It serves traditional Bavarian food and drink so the Mr went for a Currywurst paired with a stein of Paulaner Helles whereas I went for the slightly lighter option of a pear and brie salad with a glass of prosecco. I had slight food envy I won’t lie but they were equally delicious.

Craving something sweet we picked up a good old fashioned Mr Whippy and ambled along in the sunshine.

We took a stroll up to Richmond Park to walk off dinner and then headed back to have a bath in the humongous bath tub with continuous episodes of NCIS on.
