We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo…
On a very rare day off together the Mr and I woke up far too early to make the journey to London Zoo.
Top – Brandy Melville|Jeans – New Look (similar)|Trainers – Nike via ASOS|Sunglasses – MAX&CO via Specsavers.
It was the last hot UK day so I was able to wear this gorgeous top from Brandy Melville which I paired with my ripped boyfriend jeans and the comfiest shoes I own. Comfy and casual is the best when you know you’ve got a lot of walking to do and boy did we walk a lot!
Mid-week is the perfect time to go if you want to avoid huge crowds and less screaming kids.
One of the newest attractions is the Land of the Lions. It’s one of the most detailed and fun enclosures I have ever seen at a zoo. The lions were busy snoozing in the shade only seen through a tiny gap but the whole experience made up for that fact. Plenty of photo opportunities if those things appeal to you.
There are so many interactive experiences at ZSL including a Petting Zoo where I made some lovely new friends.
We stopped for a little refreshment.
Before ducking into the reptile house.
Consumed by the heat, we peered through the glass trying to spot what weird and wonderful creatures were lurking in the undergrowth.
We stepped blinking into the sun before disappearing into the Aquarium.
One of my favourite moments was stepping into a rainforest and seeing some gorgeous faces staring at us through the foliage especially this little 3 toed sloth.
The day was slowly coming to an end so we ducked under the road to the other side of the zoo to say hello to a few more friendly critters.
Exhausted we headed home wishing we had popped some of our new furry friends in our bag, although the Mr told me we didn’t have room for a pygmy hippo in the flat, not sure thats true!
