The Original Maids of Honour

Sometimes all you need is tea and scones and a good catch up.

I love a good scone laden in jam and cream, yes I am a jam first kind of a girl, it means there is a smoother base for all the cream! The Maids of Honour in Kew does some of the best cream teas i’ve ever had and recently the mother and I popped down for a good old natter.

It’s a little like stepping into a time capsule but I always feel like i’m sitting in a tea shop in Hogsmede half expecting the cakes to fly to our table whilst Ron, Harry and hermoine discuss how to defeat Voldemort over a cream tea.

Mum and I opted for a large pot of breakfast tea to accompany our scones but they have a great range of teas if you’re more of a herbal tea drinker.

Scone with Jam and Cream

Light fluffy scones with fresh sweet jam and rich cream leaving you pleasantly satisfied but not too full.

We chatted away in the afternoon sun sipping on hot, sweet cups of tea. The perfect way to beat the mid-week slump.

If you are ever Kew way then definitely check out the Maids of Honour. It can get quite busy but they also do take away if you fancy a sweet treat whilst checking out Kew Gardens.
