MUA Mosaic Bronzer|Illamasqua Shadow in Stealth|No7 High Shine Lip Crayon in Day Dreamer|Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner|Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer|Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe|Clinique High Impact Mascara.

I will never look like a Victoria Secret Model, I don’t have washboard abs or great boobs and I have accepted this fact, however there make-up is pretty easy to re-create and you can do it without caking your face in make-up.

Base

I am wearing no foundation for this look luckily I have been working on location recently and the sun has given me a healthy glow so i’ve only had to slightly conceal under my eyes using the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in the shade 15 which conceals but also slightly brightens. On my cheeks I wanted to enhance the sun glow so used a bronzer in replace of blusher and opted for the MUA Mosaic Bronzer which warms up my complexion.

Eyes

As a base I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe to create a wash on the lid and then to brighten the inner corner I patted Illamasqua Shadow in Stealth which is a gorgeous matte cream colour. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a VS Model go down the runway without a black liner on the lid so used my Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner and added a flick. Then for the lashes I used my Clinique High Impact Mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.

Finishing Touches

I’m going through a phase of hating lipstick so wanted something that was pretty light on the lips and the No7 High Shine Lip Crayon in Day Dreamer delivers with a sheer slightly frosted pink which hydrates the lips.

My Foundation Collection

P1230601

Illamasqua Skin Base|MAC Studio Fix Fluid|NARS Tinted Moisturiser|L’Oreal True Match|Rimmel Wake Me Up.

I love foundation and I like to have different coverages in my collection for different occasions and seasons but prefer a more medium coverage which doesn’t matte my skin – a satin finish. As a pale dry skinned girl finding good foundations can be difficult especially if you are on a budget. I have reviewed all of these separately so if you want to know more about each one click the link.

There are so many foundations out there any suggestions for what to add to my collection?

Hangover Cure?!

P1230599

No7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask|Clinique All About Eyes|No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream|Original Source Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel.

Hangovers, at some point in your life you are going to get one unless you never touch a drop of alcohol and then props to you for avoiding quite possibly one of the worst feelings in the world. I like a good Gin+Tonic and sometimes I drink a few too many and wake up feeling like i’m on the brink of death so I have come up with a few products and tips to get over the hangover.

Now first if you have to get up and go to work on a hangover then the only tips I can give you are: have a shower it will wake you up and shake that ‘i’m dying’ feeling off you a little, drink a lot of water and pop a pain killer or two.

However if you have a whole day to recover first thing is sleep, sleep solves everything. Sleep as long as you can and then once you are awake re-hydrate yourself with water. I know it can sometimes be a boring drink but it will do you more good than the caffeine your body might be craving.

Once you have re-hydrated run yourself a bath, because you probably slept in your clothes and left all your make-up on so its now time to clean up. I am currently loving the Original Source Shower Gel in Vanilla and Raspberry, its super sweet and doesn’t dry your skin out.

My skin always hates me after a heavy night out but I have three products which will get your skin back to its normal glow. The No7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask which after 10 mins makes your skin hydrated and super soft after washing this off liberally apply No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Dry/Very Dry Skin which adds all the moisture back into your skin without leaving it feeling greasy and then under your eyes dab a bit of the rich Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream which instantly gets to work at smoothing and plumping the delicate under eye area.

How do you get over hangovers?

Tanning Thursday

P1230597

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Dark|Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff|Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer|Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation|Soap&Glory Glow Job*

If you follow me on Instagram then you may have noticed that i’ve been a little more bronzed than my usual pale self and thats because i’ve been using the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan and mostly recently the Dark version. It’s a mousse formula which instantly shows you where you have applied the tan, it lasts for around 5 days but fades naturally and doesn’t go patchy even if you get a little hot and sweaty.

Before I tan its important to get rid of any left over tan from the week before and any dead skin so I have a smooth base for the tan, there are lots of body exfoliants out there but the Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff is amazing at getting rid of any unwanted tan especially on the elbows and knees.

Once i’m all tanned i’ve got to make sure my face matches my body and there are a couple of face products I use. If its just everyday I wear a thin layer of the Soap&Glory Glow Job which is a facial fake tanner which gives you a very healthy glow and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. If i’m going out or want a little more coverage I opt for the Rimmel Wake Me Up in Natural Beige which is more of a medium coverage but still super lightweight on the skin. As a concealer I love the Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer which is a very high coverage creamy concealer which cancels out dark circles, brightens the complexions and covers blemishes.

Woah super long post full of amazing products but what products do you use to tan?

Seared Tuna and Stripes

A bit of a random post today, but sometimes as a blogger you start an OOTD but only like one photograph or you turn up at a resturant not wanting to blog about it and then suddenly you have to tell everyone about it but didn’t bring your camera and only have Instagram as proof you went; well both of these things happened in the same day so I am popping these together to bring you and OOTD and restaurant review in one.

Chilli Salt Squid followed by Seared Seasame Tuna.

Rock and Rose is a restaurant in Richmond right next to another favourite of mine Cafe Mamma. The menu is an eclectic mix of Asian fusion and good old fashioned grill food and it tastes amazing. I broke my gluten free rule and went for the Chilli Salt Squid and I regret nothing; so many flavours in one but working perfectly together before moving onto a healthier choice the Seared Tuna on a bed of wok fried vegetables and Asian slaw. The tuna was cooked to perfection; the perfect summer dish. All washed down with a few G+T’s.

Crop – Topshop|Jeans – ASOS|Boots – H&M (similar).

Not the most exciting outfit but I love the crop top; because I just can’t stop my addiction with stripes or crop tops. I also can’t seem to stop wearing ASOS Ridley Jeans or these old H&M boots, i’m a creature of habit what can I say.

So there you go an OOTD and a restaurant review all in one!

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid£22.00

Things got a little bit pose central whilst taking blog photos but this foundation makes your skin look so flawless its hard not to give your best blue steel.

I used to be a huge fan of the full coverage foundation and although most of the time now i’m more of a natural finish some occasions call for some fake tan and a full coverage foundation which is when I reach for this beauty. It’s really easy to blend and instantly smoothes and perfects the skin without looking cakey, a great wear time and with the added bonus of SP15.

Now normally i’m not a big fan of M.A.C foundations as they don’t match my pale skin but when i’ve got a tan NW25 is perfect and doesn’t make me look like i’ve been tangoed.

Are you a M.A.C foundation fan?

Frolicking at the Flower Show

Last year mum and I went to the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show to celebrate her birthday (read about that here) and this year we returned in a similar fashion.

This year it was the 25th anniversary of the show so there were quite a few birthday themed arrangements.

P1230455P1230404P1230432

This year I felt that there was more shopping stalls than actual gardens but the show gardens were gorgeous.

P1230392P1230400P1230405P1230436

Clearly the gardening fashion is for purple, white, yellow or orange to be mixed together.

Playsuit – Stradivarius|Crop Top – H&M|Sandals – Topshop|Sunglasses – H&M.

Like last year children from local schools had made scarecrows, I particularly liked this rather plump viking.

P1230396P1230443P1230438

There were also some lovely story book themed gardens which I especially liked.

P1230453P1230391

And as always there were some just plain weird gardens.

P1230449

I’m not the biggest fan of gardening – I don’t have the patience but I love going to the flower shows because its really quite impressive and beautiful what people can create.

The Shack 68|Review

P1230373

Cocktails, barbecue sauce and your best friend sounds like a recipe for a good night out. K and I ventured into The Shack 68 the other evening for a good old catch up.

P1230378P1230372

We kicked the evening off with some cocktails, they have a great drinks list but we both loved the sound of the Carribean Shack Cooler – Bacardi Oakheart, pineapple juice and lime. Watch out these cocktails have a kick to them.

P1230376P1230377

The whole idea of the restaurant is sharing platters and mini plates. We decided to share two starters before the main event. Pork Belly Bites – quite literally some of the best pork I have ever tasted and Grilled Halloumi with Sweet Potato, Broad Bean and Pea Wings.

P1230379P1230380

Although we were already a little full from the starters we cracked into the main event. K went for a classic Cheese Burger with a side of Fries and Slaw whereas I went for a 1/2 rack of ribs with a side of mash. The ribs, oh my the ribs. Meat that melted off the bone smothered in the most amazing sauce paired with smooth, creamy mash.

P1230381

Somehow K managed to squeeze in some pudding before we had to roll ourselves home. I would highly recommend bringing your best appetite with you because the food is very filling but so amazing and there is something for even the pickets of eaters.

Dress – Glamorous (similar)|Boots – New Look (similar)|Hat – Primark (similar)|Watch – Mondaine|Rings – Accessorize.

People tell you not to mix blue and black, brown and black, blue and brown but this outfit just works. Now we all know I love a good stripe and this dress from Glamorous is the perfect, it’s great length for a day out in town paired with some brown heeled Chelsea boots which makes the outfit looks less heavy – black boots with bare legs can sometimes make me look ‘dumpy’. I chose equally simple accessorises so as not to take away from the simplicity of the outfit, all silver jewellery.

This is definitely a classic look that I will continue to wear throughout the hotter weather.

Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream|Review

P1230121-001

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream£2.99

Anything containing Vitamin E gets a thumbs up from me especially in facial moisturisers and this inexpensive offering from Superdrug is amazing.

With a fresh scent and super creamy texture, this leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and really helps repair the skin overnight, if you are a dry skinned girl then this is the night cream for you and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy or heavy over night. At only £2.99 I can’t believe that this doesn’t get hyped up more by people because its amazing.
