Discover the Best Vegan Roast in Brentford

Vegan readers in the south west London rejoice, I have found the best vegan roast on the market; Yorkshire pudding and all!

We’ve been to The Black Dog in Brentford a couple of times and I can’t quite believe I’ve never blogged about it. When the sun was shining a couple of weeks ago the Mr and I cycled over to grab a seat in their secret garden and indulge in their amazing menu.

The Mr ordered the pork roast, which as you can see from the photo was huge and I went for the vegan roast. Lentil, Quinoa & Nut Roast with grilled mushroom, roasted sweet red onion and herb gravy with the added bonus of a vegan Yorkshire pudding. Something I feel vegans miss out on in the roast department.

I was a little skeptical but it tasted just as good, if not better than a normal yorkie pud (it’s made from chickpeas) The whole vegan roast was the best I’ve ever had, perfect blend of flavours, portion size was epic and it is really good value for money.

Not only is the food amazing, but they have a huge selection of beers and ciders (as well as wines, spirits etc.) for you to choose from as well as a couple they’ve brewed themselves! With pubs now open indoors, I would recommend making a booking and trying it out for yourselves. They open every day except Tuesdays and if you can’t get a table on a Sunday the vegan options (and all the other options) are amazing on their everyday menu as well!

After our mammoth lunch we wandered around Kew Gardens so why not make a day of it.
