Monthly Most Worn | August

I cannot stop wearing this maxi dress!

In a bid to be more sustainable I wanted to showcase each month my most worn item(s), to not only prove to myself but also my readers that items don’t have to be a one wear only. Not all of the items will be bought from sustainable/ethical brands (hopefully in years to come they will be) but just to bin those items and buy new is unsustainable in it’s own way. I am striving to create a capsule wardrobe that is full of pieces that can transition the seasons and is timeless.

Maxi Dress – SHEIN.

We had some very sticky days in August and this was the perfect wrap dress to throw on and wander through the heat in. Monochrome is alway en vogue so I know this will be stylish in years to come and a wrap dress is the perfect timeless cut. It can be both smart or casual simply by the shoes and accessories you choose to wear, converse for stately home exploring, sky high wedges – who am I kidding a sensible colour pop block heel and a clutch bag for weddings, evening events etc.

It’s certainly a spring, summer and autumn dress. A light jacket in spring for those cooler breezes and then boots, cropped sweater and a leather jacket for the autumn. The huge slit makes it less suitable for winter so it will be shelved for a few months but still thats a good nine months of wear that you can get out of it and to be fair if the event you were attending was indoors you could wear it for a festive party.

As a petite girl sometimes maxi items can seem daunting however the cut of this and the ankle length mean you don’t feel drowned. The tighter top half is perfect for balancing out proportions and the flattering wrap top is perfect for any bust size.

I know i’ll still be wearing this into October but i’ll try not to have the same most worn item at the end of September.
