Hot Weather Essentials

Although we’ve had some rainy patches we’ve also had some glorious sunny days where I need a few little extra’s in my bag.

I wouldn’t say that the UK was hot at the moment, it’s more of a sunny spells sort of a week but I’m hoping that soon we’ll be back to the blue skies and no jumper required weather; however after my recent trip to Vegas I wanted to compile my list of hot weather essentials ready for the UK summertime.

First let’s talk prep work before you’ve even stepped out into the sun – don’t lie you started singing ‘The Circle of Life’ just like me. Now although I tend to ditch base products in the summer and let the millions of freckles shine through, special occasions call for a little bit more and in the hot weather you need something that is going to help it stick. For a flawless base and long wearing make-up Urban Decay Optical Illusions primer is your new best friend. It blurs any imperfections and creates the perfect surface for your chosen foundation. If I am wearing a base then the Nars Tinted Moisturiser is my go to because it’s light weight but still with medium coverage and it has SPF30.

There is nothing worse than being out and about in London and getting hot and bothered which is where my 4711 Cologne Cool Stick comes into play. It’s pretty old school but a quick swipe of this across the forehead and you feel immediately refreshed as well as smelling damn good!

I nearly always forgot to protect my lips in the sun and then you burn them and remember that you should never forget your lips because the end result is very painful. Jane Iredale LipDrink in Sheer comes with an SPF of 15 as well as being moisturising.
