Date night doesn’t mean you have to go out.
Staying in is the new going out.
With an evening off together the Mr and I decided instead of going out for dinner we’d make it together, pizza is a joint favourite so seemed like the obvious choice. We both loving cooking, although i’m more of a baker and he’s more of a chef so it was the perfect activity for a date night.
Mix up some pizza dough – or if you’re feeling lazy buy ready made pizza bases and then gather your toppings; I went for goats cheese instead of mozzarella and we both picked a selection of cured meats and some caramelised onion chutney.
Start off by spreading your tomato puree over your stretched dough. The Mr made his own tomato puree but again it’s easily bought. Then get decorating, before popping into the oven. Snacking whilst decorating is highly recommended.
Fix yourself a drink and wait for 20 minutes for the pizza to cook.
If you had any dough left over make sure to make some dough balls, melt some butter for a tasty starter before the main event.
You’d be surprised how many of the ingredients you already have in your cupboard for pizza, not only is it a great date night but perfect for entertaining little ones.
