Life’s a Beach|Norfolk Day Three

We woke up after a slight lie in to more blue skies and quickly jumped into the car to head off to another favourite place of ours; Holkham Beach.

Holkham Beach is a beautiful place hidden behind a forest which makes you feel very much like Robin Hood and his Merry Men as you trek through towards the sand.

Once you’re out of the woods you arrive at what looks like a scene from Game of Thrones; a barren wilderness before being greeted by gorgeous sand dunes.

You can’t help but take your shoes off and wiggle your feet in the sand, even when it is the middle of October. Sadly the wind started to pick up after an hour or so, so we packed up our picnic and headed in search of some cake.

We stumbled across lots of blackberries and couldn’t resist picking some with thoughts of a crumble for dessert.

After picking our fair share – and eating a healthy handful as well we sped off in the car to Wells Next to the Sea and popped into The Beach Cafe to warm up and re-fuel.

We drifted home to relax in front of the fire before the matter of dinner was discussed.

Mum baked a delicious cheese and leek pie whereas I took on the dessert.

Nothing beats a homemade apple and blackberry crumble.

Full to the brim we slumbered easily ready for our final day of adventuring.

Check out Day 1 and Day 2.
