Norfolk has been a family tradition since I can remember and although I’m sure some people couldn’t bear to visit the same place year after year it’s like reuniting with an old friend from my family and I; so we packed up the car and mum and I headed out of the hustle and bustle of London with Blakeney in mind.
Navigating essentials: caffeine, side kick and directions.
We stopped off on our way at Burnham Market – where Stephen Fry lives – to have a browse in our favourite vintage bookshop and to pick up some supplies in Gurney’s Fish Shop.
I highly recommend purchasing some Mackerel Pate from Gurney’s.
After making our first purchases of the holiday we hopped back in the car and drove off to our holiday house – Gillie Cottage which we had rented from The Blakeney Cottage Company.

Me trying to be a ‘proper blogger’ but ending up looking like a posed idiot!
Once we were all settled in we decided to take a stroll down the harbour.
Luckily the sun was setting so I managed to snap some gorgeous photos of my favourite village.

After the sun had set and left us in an orange glow we set off back for the cosy cottage where I was in charge of cooking up my speciality – the only one I have – Hunters Pie.
I love one pot recipes – easy peasy with great results.
Paired with a crisp gin and tonic and settled by a roaring fire we feasted before tucking ourselves into marshmallow like beds ready for the day ahead.
Peace Out and Pixie Dust XO
