Anyone else got a note on their phone with a list of recommendations from friends? Here are a few more for you to add.
I haven’t done one of these for a while but with storms raging on around the UK and I’m currently in bed with the cold from hell it seems rather appropriate to give you more recommendations of things to watch. No surprises there are a lot of crime documentaries.
Netflix

Tinder Swindler – who isn’t talking about this documentary, it’s full of twists and turns and a lot of utter disbelief! It may make you have trust issues of anyone who you meet online.
Puppet Master – Yet another mental story that’s all true, it will leave you with your jaw hanging open. It’s not as ‘glamorous’ as Tinder Swindler but still a great documentary. Based in the UK.
Inventing Anna – I have been waiting for this to come out since it was announced they were making it because the story is so intriguing. It’s a docu-drama so there are some little add ons from the original story, also if you love fashion then the outfits are just fantastic.
Safe – If you like thrillers of pure fiction this is one for you. It had me on the edge of my seat and is full of famous faces, giving great performances.
Stay Close – Written by the same guy who wrote Safe it’s another thriller full of plot twists and an amazing cast. There are a few kooky characters which make the plot a little odd but definitely worth a watch.
BBC I Player

The Truth About Brewdog – If you work in the hospitality industry or just like beer then this is definitely worth a watch, very eye opening and may make you question your drink of choice.
This is going to hurt – a little graphic with dark humour but well worth a watch. Based on the book by ex-doctor Adam Kaye it casts a light on the tough working conditions for NHS staff. It’s not all doom and gloom with some moments of lightness and warm moments. Ben Wishaw is fantastic in it.
Jobfished – not as ‘dramatic’ as the other documentaries I’ve recommend but a really interesting watch. We’ve all heard of catfished but this is on a whole other level!
Disney +
Mandalorian – As a Star Wars fan I was squealing when this was released and the second series recently came out. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the newer Star Wars movies but this series was very reminiscent of the older films and its full of action, humour plus Pedro Pascal is in it which also helps.
Always happy for more recommendations; I’ve already got second season of Young Wallander, Four Lives and the Stranger queued up on my to watch list.
