Take a Trip to Sunrise Pods

A hidden delight in the rolling hills of Shropshire.

Travel & Check In

To celebrate our one year wedding anniversary the Mr and I jumped in the car and drove to Shropshire and checked into Sunrise Pods, a cute little cabin with a hot tub in the rolling hills. The perfect base for a few days away, we unpacked, cracked open the prosecco our hosts had kindly left us and got straight into the hot tub. The tiny cabins have a microwave, fridge and stove top and are fully equipped with shower and smart TV. A tiny home away from home.

Long Windy Walks

We woke up to good weather so packed some supplies and our waterproofs just in case (and in classic British style they were needed!) and set off on the Stapeley Hills Walk which takes you on a gorgeous walk with stunning views. It’s pretty long and not the best signposted but we made it back to the car park in one piece and only a little muddy. It’s well worth the uphill struggle but not one for people who aren’t keen walkers! Exhausted but lungs full of fresh air we slipped back into our swimmers and spent the afternoon in the hot tub.

Full review of this funky swimsuit is here.

Ludlow Castle & Farm Shop

We love a castle the Mr and I so we drove to Ludlow which is a classic market town with a beautiful castle at the heart of it. Ludlow is thought to be one of the first stone castles to be built and is rich with history so it’s well worth a visit and for a bite to eat there are plenty of little cafes dotted around the town.

Once we had explored the castle and done a spot of shopping we drove off to The Ludlow Farm Shop which we had passed on the way and it’s like wholefoods on a whole other level. Highly recommend picking up some of their ice cream it’s amazing!

Never Too Many Castles

In my opinion you didn’t go on a British holiday if you didn’t visit a castle or stately home of some sort and what’s better than one. Two. On our last day, we packed up and loaded everything back into the car before heading for Stokesay Castle. Stokesay is a fortified medieval manor house and is stunning! i would highly recommend getting the free audio guide so you don’t miss out on all the quirks. Obviously we hit up the gift shop and tea room before heading back to London.

If you are looking for a get away in the UK then I would highly recommend Sunrise Pods. There is so much to do in Shropshire and we will definitely be back!
