It’s Always Sushi Weather

Forget about the damp drizzle and indulge at Oka.

Nestled under the bright lights of Carnaby Street in Kingly Court is Oka. A date night destination that the Mr and I have have visited before but always go back for more because it’s so damn good! So after wandering about the V&A the other day it was our first choice for dinner.

Dress – H&M (similar)|Jacket – c/o SHEIN(Use code kate015 for 15% off)|Boots – French Connection (similar).

This outfit is not completely weather appropriate now that winter has well and truly arrived in London however if you are hopping from indoor space to indoor space this will keep you warm enough, especially if you can stick to the winter sun spots. I love the illusion that mini dresses and over the knee boots give my petite height.

We always order Hosomaki, this time round Cucumber. The simplest form of sushi but in my opinion the most delicious, especially when dipped in Soy Sauce. Order the Dragon Roll; prawn tempura, asparagus, spicy mayo topped with avocado and the Spider Roll; soft shell crab with kimchi mayo, cucumber topped with avocado and tempura crumbs (not pictured because the Mr couldn’t wait) both bursting with well balanced flavours.

If you like your fish raw, like my better half does then order the Nigiri Platter and indulge in a selection of salmon and tuna . You have to leave room for dessert because the freshly baked Matcha & white chocolate cookie dough topped with coconut ice cream is divine. Book a table before you go because it’s always busy, if you can, grab a seat kitchen side and watch the magic happen right in front of you.

Once you’ve had your fill, you’re in the perfect location for a little bit of window shopping.
