Discovering the Best Veggie Burger in London

Veggies and vegans rejoice, I’ve found the perfect comfort food in London.

After a day exploring the Mr and I with rumbling stomachs stumbled across ‘The Diner‘ in The Strand. American comfort food is pretty much both our favourite cuisine so without much discussing we opened the door and found a seat.

Now I’m not a vegan or a vegetarian – don’t yell at me in the comments I’m slowly cutting it out of my diet, I’ll get there eventually, however I was super impressed that they had a whole menu dedicated to non meat-eaters. So impressed by the amazing and delicious options that I chose the Diner Veggie Cheese Burger;  the size of my head and bursting with flavour. I certainly didn’t need the side of chips and gravy (although I ate them anyway!)

I hate when the veggie option is a portobello mushroom in a burger bun, first up I hate mushrooms, second that’s not a burger! I want a patty and toppings with sauce and that’s exactly what The Diner has on offer.

The Mr is obsessed with chicken and waffles and surprise surprise he ordered the Buttermilk Chicken. He quoted it as ‘The best he’s ever had’ and he has sampled a fair few, it had the right balance of sweet and salty with melt in the mouth chicken. We washed it all down with cherry vodka slushies, literally the best thing ever before rolling ourselves home.

SO whether you’re a carnivore or a vegan The Diner is the perfect place to meet with friends, for date night or just as quick pick me up after a day of sight seeing. If I had had room for dessert I would have definitely had the chocolate and strawberry pancakes!
