MeatUp Wandsworth

I’ve found the perfect place for you to hang out this weekend.

On a slightly hungover Sunday morning the Mr and I headed out to a different part of town looking for something to cure our aching heads. We had spied MeatUP on a previous trip to Wandsworth and thought it would be the perfect place to recover.

We arrived and quickly ordered some ginger ales to settle the stomach before diving into the menu and oh my goodness I could have ordered everything. Definitely take your appetite with you!

House smoked, BBQ glazed pork belly ribs that fell off the bone with red & green slaw for the Mr and perfectly fried squid seasoned with pink peppercorn and smoked salt paired lemon & caper mayo for myself. I could already feel the hangover lifting after the first bite.

If that isn’t a hangover cure then I don’t know what is! The Mr was already tucking into his before I was allowed to snap a photo but he went for the Deckle steak which he says was melt in the mouth and will definitely be top of my list when we go back.

I opted for their special ‘Festive Burger’ a beef pattie topped with turkey, pigs in blankets and double cheese all packed together in a festive looking red buttermilk bun with a side of bone marrow and ale gravy plus the best side salad I’ve ever eaten! Did I finish this scooby snack? No I did not but I gave it a damn good go!

Full to burst we managed to squeeze in dessert. The Mr was feeling brave enough to sip at a silky smooth Espresso Martini whereas I opted for some Burnt Butter ice cream which I instantly regretted not ordering more than one scoop of.

I am already planning a trip back to MeatUP and plan to be a lot less hungover so I can sink my teeth into even more of the menu. Take your other half, take the family, take your friends and get yourself a table at this carnivores dream – veggie readers don’t worry they have amazing options for you as well!
