Lunch at Wiveton Hall

Sampling some of the finest food in Blakeney

Although we ate at our old favourite The Moorings on one night and took turns cooking on the others we wanted to try something new this holiday. Just up the road from us is Wiveton Hall Cafe. On the site of Wiveton Hall the cafe, is known for its wholesome seasonal menu so we couldn’t wait to check it out!

We arrived during a busy lunchtime; make sure you book to make sure you get a table and were seated in the beautiful and vibrant conservatory. A jug of elderflower cordial was ordered for the table before we dived into the menu. Seabass fillet on a bed of cannellini beans, spinach and topped with Aioli for mum and I.

Lobster tail with chips and salad for the Mr and a vegetable laksa for my sister.

Silence descended as we devoured our dishes, pausing only briefly to swap forks with each other so we could sample everything. Plates clear we all sat back jeans slightly straining at the seams and a feeling of content.

Dessert menus presented some of us couldn’t resist. Tiramisu panna cotta for the Mr and sticky toffee pudding for my sister. I settled for a cheeky cream topped hot chocolate. Desserts were equally as good as the mains, not necessary but throughly enjoyed. Full to the brim and ready for a nap we enjoyed a leisurely walk back to the cottage vowing to make Wiveton Hall Cafe a new tradition each year.

Even if you are just driving through Blakeney make sure to find time to visit the cafe even if its just for coffee and a cake! You won’t regret it I promise.
