Because not every product can be holy grail status.
New Cid i-prime|Superdrug Micellar Water|No7 Youthful Eye Serum|M&S Pure Beauty Night Cream|Wild About Beauty Smooth Cover Concealer.
Before I say anything else these products are not the worst, i’m not here to drag them through the mud; they’re just not as good as my favourites.
Now I love the New Cid range, their tinted moisturiser is amazing for giving a dewy finish however their primer is, well meh. It’s a silicone based one so should provide a smooth surface for your base and to a certain extent make your makeup last longer however on multiple uses it has applied smoothly but then my foundation has balled up once i’ve applied it on the top. It’s not bad it’s just not as good as my Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer.
I love micellar water it’s my go to eye make up remover but finding a good cruelty free one has been a nightmare. I picked the Superdrug Simply Pure one up on a whim and because it was under a fiver. It does remove eye make up but it does take a fair bit of scrubbing which i don’t like doing in the delicate eye area. If you’re on a budget and don’t wear five layers of mascara like myself this would be perfect but it just doesn’t suit my needs.
I never really know if eye cream actually works or whether its more to do with how much sleep and water you drink however I like to have one in my routine just incase, I’ve had this sample size of the No7 Youthful Eye Serum for a while and just couldn’t see anything happen which may be because i don’t need an eye cream or just because it’s not that good.
Marks and Spencers own range Pure is brilliant it contains 95 per cent natural ingredients it’s free from artificial colours, parabens and synthetic fragrances plus it only contains only responsibly sourced, natural British ingredients; however their Super Hydrate Night Cream just didn’t wow me. Yes it moisturises but I don’t feel like I wake up with new skin like I have with others.
Lastly a concealer by Wild About Beauty. It’s a little bit like the Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer Kit except well, not as good, it’s a cream based concealer which can only really be applied with your fingers as brushes and sponges do not work well with the formula. As soon as it’s applied it immediately goes into all the creases under the eyes and continues to go patchy throughout the day, it does however have a great setting powder which is silky soft.
