Good food and good friends are all you need to beat the January blues. I recently met up with a few of my old dancing pals something that seems to happen only once in a blue moon (read about our last meet up here.)
We headed to a pub in Battersea called The Woodman with the promise of good hearty winter warmers and we were not disappointed.
The menu is full of british food but with a twist on the traditional pub grub – No pie and chips here.
After chit chatting over a few glasses of wine we ordered and for once I knew exactly what I wanted. K and I are currently in the habit of acting like a married couple and sharing food is one of those things that most married couples do.
I chose the Winter warming Venison cobbler with cheese scones paired with creamy mustard mash and seasonal veg and K went for the Pan fried pheasant breast with smoked bacon lardons, roast onions, mushrooms and gratin potatoes.
Both were a fantastic combination of flavours and textures, my favourite was the venison I’ve never had cheese scones with my meal and it was an added bonus perfecting for mopping up all the gravy. The meat from both dishes was full of flavour and melted in the mouth.
Next up was pudding and although I didn’t want to part ways with the other half of my Sticky toffee pudding I did for a half of K’s Chocolate mocha tart and I am so happy I did. The desserts are well worth leaving room for, I would highly recommend the Sticky toffee it is to die for!
If you happen to be in the Battersea area definitely pop in for a bite to eat, I will be heading back to try one of the burgers they looked fantastic! Make sure you take some friends with you to enjoy the grub!
Peace Out and Pixie Dust XO
