I see your pumpkin patches and I raise you a pumpkin festival.
My Instagram feed is full of amazing perfectly posed pumpkin patch photos, however as we don’t have a porch to display pumpkins on or in fact the patience to carve something into one I decided to give pumpkin picking a miss. Instead I dragged the Mr to the other side of town to The Dalston Pumpkin Lantern Festival.
Lighting up the amazing Dalston Eastern Curve Garden with flickering ghoulish (and some not so scary) faces are over a thousand pumpkins carved by the local community. You can wander amongst them with your hands clasped around a glass of piping hot mulled cider or a hot toddy, marvelling at the craftsmanship and snapping photos of your favourites.
With tables and chairs dotted around to enjoy more mulled beverages and sweet treats it’s perfect for date night with a difference; as well as a family night out. The pumpkins are lit every day until 27th October from 6pm – 9pm.
