Take a Seat in Temakinho for the Evening

Meet the certified sustainable restaurant mixing Japenese and Brazilian cusine.

For our anniversary this year we wanted to keep things low key, a nice day out with no phones or distractions in our favourite city finshing up with some delicious food. The Mr found Temakinho by chance and we immeditly booked a table, luckily our anniversary fell on a Monday this year so we didn’t have to worry too much about getting a table but I can imagine it can book up quickly as it was already buzzing when we walked thorugh the door at 7:30pm.

The menu is just bursting with different flavour combinations and quite frankly I was a little overwhelemed – that or I had drunk too many cherry mulled wines at Winter Wonderland; either way the Mr took the reins with ordering and before we knew it our table was flooded with delicious items.

I can’t for the life of me remember what either of these dishes  are called and the menu isn’t online but quite frankly whatever you order it will be delicious. I would recommend getting a bunch of dishes to share instead of the traditional starter and main. The fish skewers were a delicous combination of tuna, scallops and cod all sustainbly sourced and covered in a salty sticky soy sauce. The other dish was layers of avacoda and white rice with almonds and crunchy tofu, an amazing combination of flavours and textures.

If you are a long time reader of my blog then you will probably know how much I love sushi, and I can safely say that this was the best sushi I have ever had! I would highly recommend; Salmao Com Camaro – salmon, breaded prawns with spicy mayonaise, but all of them looked and tasted amazing.

If you love raw fish then grab a Poke Mixto; rice, avocado, wakame seaweed with mango, tuna and salmon. Wash everything down with a Caipirinha or two and then make sure you have room to share their chocolate and coconut cake!

Temakinho has obtained the Friend of the Sea certification for sustainable restaurant chains, they are the first restaurant chain in the world to receive this. The rice comes from controlled farming and its cooked daily and the desserts are made at their restaurant in Milan so they know exactly where all the ingredients come from. The vibrant yet fresh décor makes this restaurant the perfect place for date night, meeting up with old friends and special occasions.
