Rimmel Wake Me Up Wonder’full Mascara|Review and Comparison

Rimmel Wake Me Up Wonder’full|Rimmel Wonder’full

Whilst strolling through the aisles of Boots I chanced upon a new offering from RimmelWake Me Up Wonder’full Mascara.

I ended up loving the Rimmel Wonder’full Mascara after it had dried up a little – the formula started out a little too wet for my liking, and I am a huge fan of their Wake Me Up Foundation so I couldn’t help but pick up a mascara that had the potential for greatness (possibly a little dramatic for a beauty product)

The Rimmel Wonder’full added a fullness to my lashes without clumping them but The Wake Me Up adds fullness and length without any clumping. The brushes are different; the Wake Me Up is a fibre wand whereas the original is a plastic comb wand however both separate the lashes and help reduce the clumping, the shape of the Wake Me Up means it grabs all the lashes to help give that wide awake look.

Although the Wake Me Up has the same slightly wet formula it doesn’t smudge as easily as the Wonder’full however I am sure as the formula dries I will love it even more.

Illamasqua Shadow in Stealth|got2b Tame&Shining Styling Oil|Soap&Glory Feel Good Factor|BarryM Gelly Nail Paint in Cotton|Rimmel Lasting Finish Liner in Spice.

July is over what!? I don’t think I have really stopped this month i’ve been filming on location quite a lot which has been great fun but again early mornings have meant not too much make-up. However I have been loving the Illamasqua Eye Shadow in Stealth which is a gorgeous matte cream colour which really helps to brighten up your eyes especially if it’s layered over a cream base. I have also been in love with the Rimmel Lip Liner in Spice which is a 90’s brown/red nude and very flattering with my pale skin.

I’m still not over my white nail obsession and turned to BarryM for a new one and thought I would try out the Gelly Hi-Shine formula. The lasting power of this with a top coat is insane and it’s super opaque after just one coat! My hair has been very much abused recently and so i’ve been trying to look after it with some styling oil mainly to get rid of the dryness and to tame the flyways, got2b Styling Oil is a really nice product which isn’t too greasy but still gets the job done and really smooths and provides shine to my hair. Lastly in July I was loving Soap&Glory Feel Good Factor which is a facial suncream with an SPF 25 which is amazing, it doesn’t leave your face feeling greasy and protects it from the sun.

What were you loving in the month of July?

Highstreet Gems|Top 3 Brands

P1230052

There are so many high street brands out there and they all have plenty to offer but it’s rare to find a brand that I would buy a full face from. Here are my top three high street brands.

Rimmel

Rimmel was the first ever make-up brand I bought from and despite the slightly cheap packaging the products themselves are all fantastic. Very affordable; all products are under £10 and all of a good quality. As a pale girl I love the amazing range of foundation shades and different formulas. Their lipsticks are phenomenal and again come in a large range of formulas and colours something for everyone.

I recommend – Lasting Finish Foundation|Moisture Renew Lipsticks|Stay Matte Powder.

Maybelline

Maybelline is a more recent discovery but I love them mainly for their eye and lip products but their face products are also fantastic. Again a large range of formulas and colours within all there products all packed with amazing pigmentation. A little more expesinve than Rimmel when it comes to bases but still some amazing bargains – Colour Tattoos at under a fiver i’m looking at you.

I recommend – The Eraser Eye Concealer|24 Hour Colour Tattoo|Colour Drama Lip Crayon.

Soap&Glory

It’s no secret that i love this company not only for their adorable packaging but also for their amazing products. It’s not the biggest make-up range out there on the market but it has some real gems and for such a small brand they cater for a large range of skin tones. I love mainly there lip and cheek products.

I recommend – Kick Ass Concealer|Fabulipstick|Glow Job.

Extra Super Lash|Review

Rimmel Extra Super Lash£4.99

We all know I love mascara and I love a budget buy even more, this little gem from Rimmel is the perfect combination of both. The Extra Super Lash helps build up a long and thick lash look, although not great for nights out this would be perfect for an everyday look.

One of the best properties of this mascara is that you can layer it up without it going crispy, gunky or clumpy – check me out with my adjectives. The tapered wand means that you can get super close to the root of the lash and into the inner corner.

Sometimes budget is better!

Rimmel BB Cream Radiance|Review

P1210989

Rimmel BB Cream Radiance£6.99

I was looking for a lightweight base for my early starts that I could blend with my hands and then go so I went for a BB Cream. I love Rimmel bases and the word radiance drew me in and they come in the shade very light.

This claims to have 9 properties in one bottle however some of the properties are the same thing just worded differently. However the shade is a great match for my skin a super pale, cool toned foundation with what I would call a medium coverage. The formula is somewhere between a liquid and a mousse which isn’t great for dry skin girls like myself as it tends to cling.

I love Rimmel bases but this is not something I will repurchase.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Liner|Review

P1210990P1210996P1210992

Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeliner£5.49

After my beloved Supercat Liner ran out I decided it was time to try something new, I love Rimmel as a brand so thought I would try out their ScandalEyes Liner. It has a super fine pen nib which is great for precision liner and you can easily thicken the line up if you so wish. It’s full of pigmentation and is a true black.

The only downside to this product is that it does tend to smudge and transfer quite easily. I don’t have oily eyelids so I think its something to do with the formula, however if you are a fan of fixing sprays – I can’t really be bothered with any of them – then this could sort that problem out.

Have you tried this product?
