My mum and I started the next morning off with a good long walk from Blakney to Morston Quay. The sun was shining but there was still a good country breeze! I’m not going to lie I felt a little like Dorothy skipping along the yellow brick road!

The highlight of the walk is tea and a bacon sandwich at the end.

After a spot of lunch we jumped in the car and went off to Burnham Market-where Mr Stephen Fry lives for a spot of shopping. Burnham is a gorgeous little village with some popular shops including Jack Wills and Joules as well as a perfect second hand bookshop and a cute gift shop called Norfolk Living definitely worth a visit.

We stumbled upon these crazy scarecrows in the town of Stiffkey!

Back home after spending our hard earned pennies it was my turn to cook dinner. I am pretty much a one trick pony in the kitchen so whipped up my hunters pie which always goes down a treat. If you are interested in the recipe let me know and i’ll pop a little recipe post up for you.

Our evening finished with a movie, tea and a good old fashioned Jigsaw!

Check back tomorrow for another day.

Plantasia

Its now officially the summer holidays for kids even though some of us have been off for months and I can’t set one foot in London without almost knocking into a gaggle of children. If you’re stuck for something to do with your kids then let me tell you about an awesome bunch of activities going on at Kew Gardens.

What with mum and I pretty much being big kids ourselves I would say we are pretty much the experts.

One of the activities at Kew is The Healing Giant. A garden shaped like a man which shows what plants that are used to treat ailments affecting the area.

But the main event is the Barefoot Walk.

And there is mud, lot’s of mud.

I wasn’t too sure about the mud.

After cleaning yourself  up I would suggest a little trip to the palm house it gets a little hot but the plants are beautiful.

Kew Gardens is fabulous for both families, couples and anyone who wants to get lost in nature. With so much to see and do it is definitely a whole day trip perfect for tiring out your munchkins.

Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

P1150789P1150790P1150791

Yves Rocher – Framboise|Revlon – Sorbet|MAC – Crosswires|Revlon – Tutti Frutti|17 – Hot Chilli

If you’re not in a summery mood yet – although with this heat wave I don’t see how you couldn’t be! Whack on a bright lipstick and you are ready to soak up those rays (after covering yourself in a good SPF) Here are my five favourite lipsticks for these hot months.

If you are a bright pink sort of a girl then the Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick in Framboise is for you; it’s more of a fuchsia than a raspberry but it’s super creamy, very highly pigmented and for longevity it last a good while and slightly stains your lips. The Revlon Lipbutter in Sorbet is bright pink but is slightly sheer and doesn’t have a great wearability however they are so moisturising that it’s no bother to re-apply and is perfect for someone who likes a lightweight lipstick.

If you are not into bright lips then the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crosswires is a gorgeous pinky coral which has a medium wearability but is really creamy, moisturising and super pigmented. Pink is not for everyone so if you prefer more orange tones in the summer then the Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti is a good choice; it’s not overly pigmented so is great if you are just getting started with the brighter colours. However if you are a brights lover then the highly pigmented Hot Chilli by Seventeen is perfect it’s a long wearing, creamy lipstick that is perfect for all skin types.

Which would you wear?

Pimms and Sunshine

I used to be the youngest in the family who had to shout to be heard at the dinner table and was often sitting under said table sulking but now there are a few younger munchkins than me running about. The other day the whole clan got together plus a few friends to name the newest little one.

Obviously there was Pimms to help along the celebrations.

After a little ceremony and some live music it was time for cake and playtime.
