Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer£5.99|Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation£7.99.

After my beloved Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation ran out I thought it was time to try something new for a day to day foundation and I had been eyeing up the Maybelline Fit Me! system for a while so took the plunge and  purchased both the concealer and the foundation.

The foundation is in 115 Ivory and is the lightest shade that I have found so far, however I think it is still a little too dark and slightly orange for my Casper the ghost skin; despite that I really love the foundation and with a fair bit of blending I can work it as my skin tone. It’s a medium coverage, easy to blend and with a wear time of around 6 hours-probably more with primer. Although it provides an excellent coverage it still lets things like freckles show through which I love but if you want more of a high coverage/blank canvas look then this might not be for you. In terms of packaging it has a pump which is always a plus and I think it looks quite classy for a highstreet foundation.

After selecting your foundation Maybelline then very helpfully gives you three concealer shades that might be right for you so you don’t have to swatch the whole lot. I went for 15 Fair which is the second lightest shade. I love this concealer, its very creamy and blends really well but the best part is it is multi purpose you can use it both under the eyes and on any problem areas; so if you aren’t a make up nerd and just want one product for everything then this concealer is for you.

Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

P1150789P1150790P1150791

Yves Rocher – Framboise|Revlon – Sorbet|MAC – Crosswires|Revlon – Tutti Frutti|17 – Hot Chilli

If you’re not in a summery mood yet – although with this heat wave I don’t see how you couldn’t be! Whack on a bright lipstick and you are ready to soak up those rays (after covering yourself in a good SPF) Here are my five favourite lipsticks for these hot months.

If you are a bright pink sort of a girl then the Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick in Framboise is for you; it’s more of a fuchsia than a raspberry but it’s super creamy, very highly pigmented and for longevity it last a good while and slightly stains your lips. The Revlon Lipbutter in Sorbet is bright pink but is slightly sheer and doesn’t have a great wearability however they are so moisturising that it’s no bother to re-apply and is perfect for someone who likes a lightweight lipstick.

If you are not into bright lips then the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crosswires is a gorgeous pinky coral which has a medium wearability but is really creamy, moisturising and super pigmented. Pink is not for everyone so if you prefer more orange tones in the summer then the Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti is a good choice; it’s not overly pigmented so is great if you are just getting started with the brighter colours. However if you are a brights lover then the highly pigmented Hot Chilli by Seventeen is perfect it’s a long wearing, creamy lipstick that is perfect for all skin types.

Which would you wear?

Elegant Touch Nails

Elegant Touch Nails in All Sorts£7.10

I am not normally a false nail girl at all but during a browse of Superdrug these popped out at me and I picked them up. First of all these are not great if you have small fingers like I do. There where some nails that would have fitted my big toe but thats about it; so finding ones that fitted my nails was quite a challenge. Once I had sorted that out they were really easy to apply. They come with sticky pads instead of the old school glue ones so you just put the pad onto your own nail and then press the false nail over the top.

They look really pretty and add a little something to an outfit but these are supposed to last for a week and most of the nails had already dropped off by the end of the night. So if you are looking for a one night nail wonder then this is for you but if you want something a bit more permeant I would go for a shellac.

Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Blusher in Onamatopecha – £9.00

This cream blush from S&G is perfect for a subtle peach glow on both fair and tanned skin. I didn’t need a new blush when I picked this up but I am so happy I did. It can fit in my handbag and is perfect for girls on the go. Just apply direct to the cheeks and blend in with your fingers; or a brush, sponge which ever you prefer. It comes out quite a scary bright colour but once it blends in; which it does perfectly it becomes much more natural.
