The Autumn Face|FOTD

Autumn to me is the season of eyeshadow. My make-up always gets heavier this time of the year even during the day, I love cranberries and browns on my lids as well as dark burgundies and plums on my lips.

My foundation is the Maybelline Fit Me! foundation in 115, this is a little too dark for my skin tone but I sheer it out and can just about get away with it, it’s a great medium coverage foundation which covers any redness in the skin, gives and even skin tone and blends beautifully. Too conceal I used the 17 Phwoarr Paint in Fair, this is a super high coverage cream concealer which illuminates under they eyes but also covers spots, if you have super dry skin then this may be a little too thick for you but for normal and combination this is fantastic. On my cheeks I used MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Sunkissed Glow I wanted something to warm up my face and this bronzer is perfect due to the different shades within it.

I used two Sleek palettes to create my eye look the Ultra Mattes V2 and the Storm palette. All over my lids I used Dune and then in the inner corner I used Maple both from the Ultra Mattes, then I blended the dark brown shimmer from the Storm palette into the crease and and outer corner. To add a little more shimmer into the look I added the champagne colour from the Storm palette on top of the other colours. To line my eyes I used my favourite felt tip liner Supercat by Soap&Glory ending with a little flick and then I coated my lashes in Miss Sporty Studio Lash mascara which is a great lengthening mascara.

Finishing Touches

To finish off the eyes I added my all time favourite lashes the Eylure Texture No.154 these add definition and texture. On my lips is the gorgeous Beguiled by Topshop, super pigmented and not too drying on the lips although not as creamy as some of the lipsticks I own.

What’s your favourite colour to wear in Autumn?

My Top 3 Cleansers

Nivea Daily Essentials 2in1 Cleanser and Toner|Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion Goodbye Dry|Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean.

As much as I love wearing make up there is nothing better than taking it all off at the end of the day. I am very much a high street type of a girl and think that there is a pretty good range of skincare out there without breaking the bank; here are my top three.

1.Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing 2in1 Cleanser and Toner£3.59

This is a great basic skin care item especially for anyone who is just starting out. It’s a cream which I apply with my fingertips and then either remove with cotton wool (if i’m being lazy) or wash off with a flannel. It has a really refreshing smell and is great for anyone with sensitive skin. It’s both a toner and a cleanser so is great for anyone who is a little lazy or has had a late night.

2. Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion Goodbye Dry£3.49

10p cheaper but just as good as the Nivea one. It has a more floral smell so not great if you have a sensitive nose but I rather like the smell. This is great for people with dry skin as it really adds moisture to the skin even whilst cleansing. It’s super quick and effective at removing make up but I also love this for just getting rid of the daily grime when I’ve had a no make-up day.

3.Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean 3in1 Deep Purifying Cleanser£8.00

Slightly more expensive than the other two but this is perfect for after nights out when you’ve had a lot of make up on. It removes make-up, de-clogs your t-zone and boots circulation. It also is balanced for all skin types and smells amazing but the smell isn’t too overpowering. Leaves my skin super hydrated and feeling super soft.

Do you prefer high street or high end skin care?

Not So Wonder’Full Mascara|Review

Rimmel Wonder’full Mascara£7.99

I am a mascara junkie, I have admitted this plenty of times on my blog so when a new mascara is released particularly when it’s by Rimmel I will purchase it. I was rather intrigued by their latest offering (although I realise this isn’t as current as I first thought) the thought of argan oil in a mascara well seemed rather pointless but regardless of this I picked it up.

It’s a volume mascara hence the witty name but I have to say I feel like this mascara did nothing too my lashes apart from colouring my already dark lashes more black. It has an unusual flexible brush which makes it hard to apply as it sort of bounces off my lashes and the aragan oil doesn’t really make a difference to how soft my lashes are. On the plus side it didn’t clump my upper lashes although they did slightly stick together on my lower lashes.

At only £7.99 I’m not complaining but it’s not something that made enough of an impression on my lashes but if you like a more natural look to your lashes then this might be for you!

Once this mascara had dried up a little bit I actually started liking it, it adds volume to the lashes without clumping

Have you tried the Wonder’full Mascara?

Sweater Weather|OOTD

Jumper – H&M(similar)|Hat – H&M(similar)|Jeans – New Look|Shoes – River Island|Thermos – Disneyland.

Sundays are either for lie-ins and breakfasts in beds or for crisp early morning walks with a thermos of hot coffee. Last Sunday my mum and I decided to go for another little walk along the river (see my outfit from the last walk here) armed with coffee and wrapped up we set off. The weather wasn’t too cold so I got away with just this super cosy jumper from H&M teamed with some ripped jeans from New Lookyes I have finally jumped on that bandwagon. To keep my eyes warm I popped on this bright beanie hat and laced up the comfiest heeled boots I have, these gorgeous River Island workmen style ones.

It’s becoming a little tradition to have weekend walks and it’s the perfect opportunity for OOTD photos!

Playsuit OOTD

Playsuit – H&M|Shoes – Topshop.

*I promise I will do a full OOTD soon and also get a new background!*

I recently somehow had a Saturday night off from work and rounded up my wonderful girls for a night of cocktails. I picked this new jumpsuit which I snapped up in the H&M sale. Its not the warmest of outfits but it made me feel very tall and glamorous. I loved the monochrome of the playsuit so opted for a nice colour pop shoe; these Topshop ones are a gorgeous orangey red with a little heel.

With a print this busy I opted to keep everything else simple.

I think this photo set proves that I really need to work on my posing skills!

Hollywood Hair

Last week I had my first mini assessment at Delamar and although I haven’t really been keeping you all updated on what i’ve been doing – bar the large number of instagrams I have been taking. I though I would show you what I created during Hollywood Hair week. Now if you have read my blog for a while then you will know that I am not exactly a hair expert but under the instruction of Anna Winterburn I managed to create a whole look.

My whole look was inspired not only by the gorgeous colour of Jen’s hair but also by the idea of a candy canes and strawberries and cream.

I started out by moussing and blowdrying Jens hair to create texture before adding in blonde wefts to create the strawberries and cream effect before adding some padding to the crown of the head. After a quick little bit of backcombing and smoothing I had created a good amount of volume at the top of the head.

I then tonged it all with a Babyliss Pro Conical Wand and left the curls as they were. As a finishing touch I pinned some plaited wefts into the curls, the front of the hair and to cover up any messy bits at the back before popping in two lollipops to make the look slightly more Avante Garde.

I love the look I created on Jen and I love the look she did on me as well I felt like a fairy princess prancing about the makeup room.

Everyone in my class created amazing looks and I can’t wait to share more of the hair skills I have learnt with you guys!

Illamasqua Demo with Delamar College

Due to my make-up course I got the opportunity to to the Illamasqua flagship store in Beak Street for a demo evening and then free reign of the store. After battling the rush hour we arrived at the store – which is beautiful and where ushered into a little side room where they hold make-up classes.

Our hour long demo was taken by the talented Tonee Roberio who has worked with many celebrities including Kylie Minogue, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. He talked us through each product he was using on his dark vampy night time look, although part of it was to sell us the products it was also just a great opportunity to know more about the products Illamasqua has and how to use them. Illamasqua has a really unique way of doing make up they go against the usual structure to create these gorgeous ethereal looks which break a lot of boundaries.

After the demo we were let loose in the store, I picked up Hollow Cream Pigment which I have been wanting for ages, Skin Base in SB 3.5 and an Eye Shadow in Stealth. I can’t wait to try out all the products and the packaging is beautiful.

I’m not sure that the demo evenings are available to all but if you want to learn more about the company or how they apply the make-up then I would highly suggest trying one of their 2-3 hour courses.
