Top 5 High Street Blushers

P1150606

17  Sugar Plum|Rimmel Live Pink|S&G Onamatopecha|Topshop Head Over Heels|Rimmel Santa Rose.

I feel naked without blush- yes I know that’s a silly statement but it’s true; so here are my top 5 favourite high street blushers.

Starting with an old favourite 17 blusher in Sugar Plum. If you have been a frequent reader of my Blog or watcher of my YouTube you will have seen me use this hundred of time, it’s a gorgeous sugar pink which instantly brings life to your cheeks without being too in your face. On the other hand if you want something a bit more bright on your cheeks then the Rimmel blusher in Live Pink is a great blusher for perking up the cheeks.

In terms of cream blush Topshop blush in Head Over Heels is a gorgeous peachy orange. These blend really nicely and are highly pigmented so don’t be too heavy handed with the application. For a more subtle blush the Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Blusher in Onamatopecha is perfect. It comes in stick form and is perfect for on the go application. If you prefer subtle blushers then Rimmel blusher in Santa Rose is perfect it has a slight shimmer to it and looks great with a tan.

What are your favourite blushers?

The Natural History Museum is literally one of my favourite places to visit its free and there is so much to see; also the architecture inside is just gorgeous. I only just noticed that there are carved monkeys on the arches.

Some suggestions of what to do at the Natural History Museum; The Spirit Collection is a free behind the scenes tour where you can see all the specimens they have in their archives including a giant squid called Archie, or you can travel through the centre of the earth and experience an earthquake in the red zone, or do both of these and be big kids all over again.

After viewing weird things in jars and being an explorer of the earths crust grab something yummy for lunch. I like Le Pain  Quotidien which is two minutes from Natural History, the coffee is to die for and the food is amazing. Pictured above is the chicken club well worth a try.

If you’re not bored of your friends company invite them back to yours grab some Pimms (or beverage of choice) some chip and dip and wait whilst dinner cooks. A and I made sweet chill chicken with salad and coleslaw.

What are your ways of beating the monday blues?

RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

My mum has the green fingers of the family so as a birthday present my dad and I took her to the Hampton Court Flower Show.

The first RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was held in 1993 (a year after I was born) and has gone on to become the worlds largest flower show.

I am not a big fan of gardening but I do love a good bouquet and am a big fan of frolicking in wild meadows so I was excited to see what was behind the palaces golden gates.

One of my favourite show gardens was the Macmillan Cancer Garden.

After wandering around a few of the gardens it was Pimm’s O’Clock.

Before onto more gardens.

One of the gardens was named ‘Lest we forget’ and was a garden grown in the trenches.

Just a simple little outfit for a family dinner. I love high waisted jeans with a cropped shirt as its a nice twist to the classic blue jeans and white shirt look. Of course on my feet I have my beloved cleated sole ASOS platforms to give me some height. To keep me cosy in the cool summer evening I donned my Topshop fleece lined denim jacket – yes I wore double denim. The bag is an old DKNY one which is so big it can hold all my junk.

Focus Opera Mini Tour

P1150410

If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram then you might no that I’ve been on a little mini tour with the opera company Focus Opera and I thought I would share with you some snaps from my little adventure. P1150310P1150317Normally I only perform with Focus Opera but this year not only was I performing but I was also the assistant director and make up artist for the tour so my work started with some set decorating, as you can see I was having maybe too much fun!

P1150319P1150329P1150331The first two shows where at Chiswick house where I was stage manager. I worked with some amazing professional singers and the sun shone each day it was just fantastic.

P1150387P1150419

Being very professional back stage with my other stage manager-yes I felt like a spy with the ear piece.

P1150435

Then I travelled up to Huddersfield to perform in their production of Carmen. I hadn’t performed on stage for a while and I forgot how much of an adrenaline rush it was.

Seawise Camden

P1150290

I’ve been wanting to tell you all about this gem since I discovered it but I also want to keep it my little secret because table space is limited! WARNING if you don’t like seafood then don’t go here because its literally seafood and more seafood.

P1150302

A and I hadn’t seen each other for a good month so decided it was time for a good old chit chat before she jets off on holiday, both of us were craving seafood and whilst trawling the internet discovered this little gem SeaWise in Camden. Now normally I am a Central London type of a girl – you know Covent Garden, Picadilly etc but I was excited to go a little further a field.

P1150295

We arrived after getting a little lost-it’s within Camden stables and were welcomed into a little wooden shack of wonder that was bustling with people and mouth watering food. I suggest booking you can do so online. We were seated and after a few giggles with the waiter were left to peruse the menu which was filled with promise.

P1150291

We shared starters which although they look plain were so tasty. Calamari with tartar sauce and Bang Bang prawns. The Bang Bang prawns were new to us and omgosh I could have eaten a whole platter to myself; the perfect mix of spices, crunchy batter and meaty prawns and the calamari well you can’t really go wrong with calamari.

P1150292P1150293P1150294

Again we shared main courses because we just couldn’t decide on just one dish each. A picked the dressed crab with salad and I picked garlic lobster tail with chips. Everything is fresh, its bought that morning at the market and you can really tell when you taste the food; it’s simple but delicious. The crab was fantastic, it’s a cold dish and really refreshing in the summer with its colourful salad. The lobster tail was, well I really have no words it was so good. Just meaty, lobstery yumminess, like I said no words.

P1150300

After paying our very reasonable tab -I don’t like discussing money but two courses of fresh seafood and two alcoholic drinks was around £25.00 each BARGAIN. We bumped into this little fellow outside the restaurant his name is Rascal and he is a French Bulldog and Pug cross. SeaWise is the perfect place for either a quick snack or a full on dinner, everything is fresh and cooked to order but what makes this place is the staff literally the friendliest people I have ever met in a restaurant.
