Changing Faces

If you follow me on both of my Instagrams Personal or Professional then you may know that I have recently been doing a little bit of prosthetics and I thought that I would  share some photos with you because well it’s not something you get to do on a day to day basis.

We created the whole prosthetic from scratch including designing, sculpting and pouring the silicone into the mould to create our old lady face prosthetics.

It was a days worth of work and I am so thankful to the wonderful Hannah who was my model as she had to sit still for absolutely ages!

The concept of my piece was an old hippy who had been to Glastonbury a few too many times and I am pretty proud at how it turned out.

I don’t want to go into prosthetics as a career but I feel so lucky to have had the chance to step away from beauty make up and get down and dirty with a ton of clay, silicone and glue to create a whole piece. If you ever get the opportunity to do it I would highly recommend it, it’s stressful but so worth it!

Sudocrem Skin Care Cream* C/O Sudocrem£1.99

Yes readers today I am writing about nappy cream, well not exactly. Recently I was contacted and asked if I wanted to try Sudocrem Skin Care Cream and after being slightly hesitant and a few nappy jokes from my mum I accepted because hey who doesn’t like a little bit of post.

The Skin Care Cream is apparently a holy grail item for many celebrities and I can see why. It may look pretty boring and well not very exciting but this super thick cream is perfect for the winter time. It really hydrates the skin and gets rid of any nasty dry patches. I’ve recently been struck down with the cold and my normally red raw nose was soothed by Sudocrem.  I like to apply this at night time to really put the moisture back into my skin and I think this is going to be really useful during the christmas party season when a few too many late nights leaves your skin gasping for moisture.

At only £1.99 and in a handy 30g tube you can’t really go wrong.

Bourjois Bronzing Primer|Review

P1180827P1180848P1180829

Bourjois Bronzing Primer£9.99

Another whim purchases – I really need to stop having those! I didn’t buy this for its ‘correct’ use as a primer to warm up your complexion or as a mixer for your lighter foundations although I probably would in the summer time but instead as a cream contour. It’s an odd gel and mousse texture and looks pretty brown and scary in the pot but with a light hand it can really chisel out some cheekbones. It blends really nicely but on paler skin like my own you have to be super careful with application as it can look a little muddy on the skin.

The bronzing primer is a great little product and I am sure I will use it in the summer to warm up my foundations and even maybe as an eyeshadow primer for a matte smokey eye.

The Autumn Face|FOTD

P1180984P1180989P1180994

Autumn to me is the season of eyeshadow. My make-up always gets heavier this time of the year even during the day, I love cranberries and browns on my lids as well as dark burgundies and plums on my lips.

Face

My foundation is the Maybelline Fit Me! foundation in 115, this is a little too dark for my skin tone but I sheer it out and can just about get away with it, it’s a great medium coverage foundation which covers any redness in the skin, gives and even skin tone and blends beautifully. Too conceal I used the 17 Phwoarr Paint in Fair, this is a super high coverage cream concealer which illuminates under they eyes but also covers spots, if you have super dry skin then this may be a little too thick for you but for normal and combination this is fantastic. On my cheeks I used MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Sunkissed Glow I wanted something to warm up my face and this bronzer is perfect due to the different shades within it.

Eyes

I used two Sleek palettes to create my eye look the Ultra Mattes V2 and the Storm palette. All over my lids I used Dune and then in the inner corner I used Maple both from the Ultra Mattes, then I blended the dark brown shimmer from the Storm palette into the crease and and outer corner. To add a little more shimmer into the look I added the champagne colour from the Storm palette on top of the other colours. To line my eyes I used my favourite felt tip liner Supercat by Soap&Glory ending with a little flick and then I coated my lashes in Miss Sporty Studio Lash mascara which is a great lengthening mascara.

Finishing Touches

To finish off the eyes I added my all time favourite lashes the Eylure Texture No.154 these add definition and texture. On my lips is the gorgeous Beguiled by Topshop, super pigmented and not too drying on the lips although not as creamy as some of the lipsticks I own.

What’s your favourite colour to wear in Autumn?

My Top 3 Cleansers

Nivea Daily Essentials 2in1 Cleanser and Toner|Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion Goodbye Dry|Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean.

As much as I love wearing make up there is nothing better than taking it all off at the end of the day. I am very much a high street type of a girl and think that there is a pretty good range of skincare out there without breaking the bank; here are my top three.

1.Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing 2in1 Cleanser and Toner£3.59

This is a great basic skin care item especially for anyone who is just starting out. It’s a cream which I apply with my fingertips and then either remove with cotton wool (if i’m being lazy) or wash off with a flannel. It has a really refreshing smell and is great for anyone with sensitive skin. It’s both a toner and a cleanser so is great for anyone who is a little lazy or has had a late night.

2. Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion Goodbye Dry£3.49

10p cheaper but just as good as the Nivea one. It has a more floral smell so not great if you have a sensitive nose but I rather like the smell. This is great for people with dry skin as it really adds moisture to the skin even whilst cleansing. It’s super quick and effective at removing make up but I also love this for just getting rid of the daily grime when I’ve had a no make-up day.

3.Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean 3in1 Deep Purifying Cleanser£8.00

Slightly more expensive than the other two but this is perfect for after nights out when you’ve had a lot of make up on. It removes make-up, de-clogs your t-zone and boots circulation. It also is balanced for all skin types and smells amazing but the smell isn’t too overpowering. Leaves my skin super hydrated and feeling super soft.

Do you prefer high street or high end skin care?

Not So Wonder’Full Mascara|Review

P1180852P1180822P1180855

Rimmel Wonder’full Mascara£7.99

I am a mascara junkie, I have admitted this plenty of times on my blog so when a new mascara is released particularly when it’s by Rimmel I will purchase it. I was rather intrigued by their latest offering (although I realise this isn’t as current as I first thought) the thought of argan oil in a mascara well seemed rather pointless but regardless of this I picked it up.

It’s a volume mascara hence the witty name but I have to say I feel like this mascara did nothing too my lashes apart from colouring my already dark lashes more black. It has an unusual flexible brush which makes it hard to apply as it sort of bounces off my lashes and the aragan oil doesn’t really make a difference to how soft my lashes are. On the plus side it didn’t clump my upper lashes although they did slightly stick together on my lower lashes.

At only £7.99 I’m not complaining but it’s not something that made enough of an impression on my lashes but if you like a more natural look to your lashes then this might be for you!

*UPDATE*

Once this mascara had dried up a little bit I actually started liking it, it adds volume to the lashes without clumping

Have you tried the Wonder’full Mascara?
