If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram then you might no that I’ve been on a little mini tour with the opera company Focus Opera and I thought I would share with you some snaps from my little adventure. Normally I only perform with Focus Opera but this year not only was I performing but I was also the assistant director and make up artist for the tour so my work started with some set decorating, as you can see I was having maybe too much fun!
The first two shows where at Chiswick house where I was stage manager. I worked with some amazing professional singers and the sun shone each day it was just fantastic.
Being very professional back stage with my other stage manager-yes I felt like a spy with the ear piece.
Then I travelled up to Huddersfield to perform in their production of Carmen. I hadn’t performed on stage for a while and I forgot how much of an adrenaline rush it was.
After an exhausting but exhilarating week I was back in London with so many memories and exciting projects for the future.
Check out the Focus Opera blog and website.

I’ve been wanting to tell you all about this gem since I discovered it but I also want to keep it my little secret because table space is limited! WARNING if you don’t like seafood then don’t go here because its literally seafood and more seafood.
A and I hadn’t seen each other for a good month so decided it was time for a good old chit chat before she jets off on holiday, both of us were craving seafood and whilst trawling the internet discovered this little gem SeaWise in Camden. Now normally I am a Central London type of a girl – you know Covent Garden, Picadilly etc but I was excited to go a little further a field.
We arrived after getting a little lost-it’s within Camden stables and were welcomed into a little wooden shack of wonder that was bustling with people and mouth watering food. I suggest booking you can do so online. We were seated and after a few giggles with the waiter were left to peruse the menu which was filled with promise.
We shared starters which although they look plain were so tasty. Calamari with tartar sauce and Bang Bang prawns. The Bang Bang prawns were new to us and omgosh I could have eaten a whole platter to myself; the perfect mix of spices, crunchy batter and meaty prawns and the calamari well you can’t really go wrong with calamari.
Again we shared main courses because we just couldn’t decide on just one dish each. A picked the dressed crab with salad and I picked garlic lobster tail with chips. Everything is fresh, its bought that morning at the market and you can really tell when you taste the food; it’s simple but delicious. The crab was fantastic, it’s a cold dish and really refreshing in the summer with its colourful salad. The lobster tail was, well I really have no words it was so good. Just meaty, lobstery yumminess, like I said no words.
After paying our very reasonable tab -I don’t like discussing money but two courses of fresh seafood and two alcoholic drinks was around £25.00 each BARGAIN. We bumped into this little fellow outside the restaurant his name is Rascal and he is a French Bulldog and Pug cross. SeaWise is the perfect place for either a quick snack or a full on dinner, everything is fresh and cooked to order but what makes this place is the staff literally the friendliest people I have ever met in a restaurant.
