Eylure Eyelash Applicator|Emite Eyelash Curlers|Real Techniques Silicone Gel Liner|MAC 217

Eylure Eyelash Applicator – I love false eyelashes but am still in process of getting good at applying them, this little gizmo is like a large set of tweezers shaped like your eyelid. You pop the falsies into them apply glue and then apply to your lid nice and simple. I picked this up in an Eylure starter kit on ASOS (similar) but if you go to Boots and Superdrug you might find it.

Emite Eyelash Curlers – Everyone (well maybe not everyone but most people) will have a set of eyelash curlers, I only use mine for special occasions but love how they add extra curl to your lashes and are great if you are adding on falsies.

Real Techniques Silicone Gel Liner – I love liquid and gel liner for doing cat flicks and I have found that this Silicone liner is easier to apply as it does’t have any stray hairs making the line shaky. Its also much easier to clean.

MAC 217 Brush – The MAC 217 is probably the most talked about brush between bloggers and until you get it you don’t really understand why. It’s the perfect blending brush for shadows great for both day and night looks.

Supercat Liner

Soap&Glory Supercat Liner£6.00

I can’t quite believe that I haven’t blogged about this product before seeing as I use it nearly everyday.

I love a good cat flick and the Supercat Liner by Soap&Glory makes it easier than ever to do – even in a rush. It’s a felt tip liner with a thin point meaning that you can do either a super thin line or thicken it up for more drama. It’s highly pigmented to give you a clear black line across your lids and doesn’t transfer at all during the day. What I love about this product is that it’s so smooth to pop on, no dragging across the eyelids; it just glides on.

At only £6.00 I will always re-purchase.

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial

P1150928P1150944

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial£6.49

I have been a fan of the Apocolips for ages but only had them in dramatic reds so wanted something a little bit more day to day. Celestial is a gorgeous pink with a slight purple tone to it – that sounds weird I know but it’s true. Celestial is the perfect for day time but would look lovely with a gloss over the top for a night out.

Apocolips are liquid lipsticks with an amazing staying power and great pigmentation, they are not completely matte but not shimmery either (sort of like a MAC Satin texture) If you need a day to day lipstick that will stay for ages then this is the one for you and under £7.00 whats stopping you really!

Maybelline Fit Me!|Review

P1150902P1150904

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer£5.99|Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation£7.99.

After my beloved Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation ran out I thought it was time to try something new for a day to day foundation and I had been eyeing up the Maybelline Fit Me! system for a while so took the plunge and  purchased both the concealer and the foundation.

The foundation is in 115 Ivory and is the lightest shade that I have found so far, however I think it is still a little too dark and slightly orange for my Casper the ghost skin; despite that I really love the foundation and with a fair bit of blending I can work it as my skin tone. It’s a medium coverage, easy to blend and with a wear time of around 6 hours-probably more with primer. Although it provides an excellent coverage it still lets things like freckles show through which I love but if you want more of a high coverage/blank canvas look then this might not be for you. In terms of packaging it has a pump which is always a plus and I think it looks quite classy for a highstreet foundation.

After selecting your foundation Maybelline then very helpfully gives you three concealer shades that might be right for you so you don’t have to swatch the whole lot. I went for 15 Fair which is the second lightest shade. I love this concealer, its very creamy and blends really well but the best part is it is multi purpose you can use it both under the eyes and on any problem areas; so if you aren’t a make up nerd and just want one product for everything then this concealer is for you.

Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

P1150789P1150790P1150791

Yves Rocher – Framboise|Revlon – Sorbet|MAC – Crosswires|Revlon – Tutti Frutti|17 – Hot Chilli

If you’re not in a summery mood yet – although with this heat wave I don’t see how you couldn’t be! Whack on a bright lipstick and you are ready to soak up those rays (after covering yourself in a good SPF) Here are my five favourite lipsticks for these hot months.

If you are a bright pink sort of a girl then the Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick in Framboise is for you; it’s more of a fuchsia than a raspberry but it’s super creamy, very highly pigmented and for longevity it last a good while and slightly stains your lips. The Revlon Lipbutter in Sorbet is bright pink but is slightly sheer and doesn’t have a great wearability however they are so moisturising that it’s no bother to re-apply and is perfect for someone who likes a lightweight lipstick.

If you are not into bright lips then the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crosswires is a gorgeous pinky coral which has a medium wearability but is really creamy, moisturising and super pigmented. Pink is not for everyone so if you prefer more orange tones in the summer then the Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti is a good choice; it’s not overly pigmented so is great if you are just getting started with the brighter colours. However if you are a brights lover then the highly pigmented Hot Chilli by Seventeen is perfect it’s a long wearing, creamy lipstick that is perfect for all skin types.

Holy Grail Mascara Dupe

P1150673P1150670P1150669

Miss Sporty Studio Lash£2.99 is a dupe for Clinique High Impact Mascara£16.00

Clinique High Impact was my HOLY GRAIL mascara with Miss Sporty being a close second and now I realise why because Miss Sporty Studio Lash is a much cheaper dupe of the Clinique proven in the photos above. Both of these mascara’s lengthen and separate your lashes rather than add volume however a few coats of this does thicken up your lashes slightly. The Studio Lash has a plastic wand which makes it easier to get to the root of the lash whereas the Clinique one has a fibre wand but the formula really helps to lengthen the lashes.

I love coating on mascaras and nearly always layer them up so get through tubes of the stuff really quickly so finding that the Miss Sporty is a dupe and a fraction of the price makes me a very happy bunny! If you prefer your higher end brands then try the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume which is just fabulous.

Sea Punk – Bleach London

P1150660P1150664

So as you might all know I got some ombre done on my hair, giving me the freedom to put some colour into the ends. I had heard a lot about Bleach London and I love their tumblr so went and picked up Sea Punk from my local Boots. After washing my hair and towel drying it I applied the dye to the ends of my hair, it smells divine; very tropical which was a nice change from the usual chemical smell of hair dyes. You leave it on for 15 minutes (I left mine on for a little longer) before washing it out without shampoo.

P1150666P1150668

This was the end result. It’s not as green as I would have liked but it does add a lovely tint to my hair, so if you are looking for a slight hue to your hair then this would be perfect for you. One bottle for dip dye will do about two dyes (three if you have shorter hair) so you can top it up whenever needed. I will definitely be purchasing more Bleach London products so I can see if other products come up brighter!
