Apocolips Lip Velvet|Review

Rimmel Apocolips Lip Velvet in Atomic Rose – £6.49

Just like Revlon did with their Colourburst Matte Balms, Rimmel have done the same with their famous Apocolips creating Lip Velvet. A velvety, matte liquid lipstick with great pigmentation and a wear time of around 6+ hours that’s with eating and drinking these are great for people who have a busy lifestyle and love matte look lips. The colour Atomic Rose is a beautiful coral colour which is perfect for both night and day. There are four Lip Velvets in the range and I want all of them!

Dr Spot|Review

Soap&Glory Dr Spot – £8.00

Now I am quite lucky to not get too many blemishes but occasionally if i’ve been wearing a lot of make up and had a few late nights my skin starts to rebel and a couple of pesky white heads will pop up. Dr Spot by Soap&Glory is perfect for those sneaky spots that pop up due to dirt and grease etc. I don’t think it works too well on more hormonal spots but you could try.

The clear gel which you can apply twice daily is full of salicylic and lactic acid which helps to reduce the spot and sooth irritation. I love putting it on in the evening and then waking up with noticeably reduced spots. At only £8.00 it’s a bargain!

M.A.C Modesty|Review

M.A.C Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty.

I love M.A.C lipsticks – who doesn’t and this little one was the first M.A.C lipstick that I ever bought. Its a gorgeous pinky brown with a hint of mauve so perfect for a neutral loving girl like myself. As a cremesheen its got great pigmentation with moisture as well so perfect for everyday wearing. I have quite pigmented lips but the colour still shows up great on them.

If you are looking for a natural everyday lipstick then this is the one for you, with a slight vanilla scent its perfect to just pop in your handbag. I pop a little bit of gloss over the top to make it more evening appropriate.

Most Loved Make Up Tools

Eylure Eyelash Applicator|Emite Eyelash Curlers|Real Techniques Silicone Gel Liner|MAC 217

Eylure Eyelash Applicator – I love false eyelashes but am still in process of getting good at applying them, this little gizmo is like a large set of tweezers shaped like your eyelid. You pop the falsies into them apply glue and then apply to your lid nice and simple. I picked this up in an Eylure starter kit on ASOS (similar) but if you go to Boots and Superdrug you might find it.

Emite Eyelash Curlers – Everyone (well maybe not everyone but most people) will have a set of eyelash curlers, I only use mine for special occasions but love how they add extra curl to your lashes and are great if you are adding on falsies.

Real Techniques Silicone Gel Liner – I love liquid and gel liner for doing cat flicks and I have found that this Silicone liner is easier to apply as it does’t have any stray hairs making the line shaky. Its also much easier to clean.

MAC 217 Brush – The MAC 217 is probably the most talked about brush between bloggers and until you get it you don’t really understand why. It’s the perfect blending brush for shadows great for both day and night looks.

Supercat Liner

Soap&Glory Supercat Liner£6.00

I can’t quite believe that I haven’t blogged about this product before seeing as I use it nearly everyday.

I love a good cat flick and the Supercat Liner by Soap&Glory makes it easier than ever to do – even in a rush. It’s a felt tip liner with a thin point meaning that you can do either a super thin line or thicken it up for more drama. It’s highly pigmented to give you a clear black line across your lids and doesn’t transfer at all during the day. What I love about this product is that it’s so smooth to pop on, no dragging across the eyelids; it just glides on.

At only £6.00 I will always re-purchase.

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial£6.49

I have been a fan of the Apocolips for ages but only had them in dramatic reds so wanted something a little bit more day to day. Celestial is a gorgeous pink with a slight purple tone to it – that sounds weird I know but it’s true. Celestial is the perfect for day time but would look lovely with a gloss over the top for a night out.

Apocolips are liquid lipsticks with an amazing staying power and great pigmentation, they are not completely matte but not shimmery either (sort of like a MAC Satin texture) If you need a day to day lipstick that will stay for ages then this is the one for you and under £7.00 whats stopping you really!

Maybelline Fit Me!|Review

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer£5.99|Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation£7.99.

After my beloved Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation ran out I thought it was time to try something new for a day to day foundation and I had been eyeing up the Maybelline Fit Me! system for a while so took the plunge and  purchased both the concealer and the foundation.

The foundation is in 115 Ivory and is the lightest shade that I have found so far, however I think it is still a little too dark and slightly orange for my Casper the ghost skin; despite that I really love the foundation and with a fair bit of blending I can work it as my skin tone. It’s a medium coverage, easy to blend and with a wear time of around 6 hours-probably more with primer. Although it provides an excellent coverage it still lets things like freckles show through which I love but if you want more of a high coverage/blank canvas look then this might not be for you. In terms of packaging it has a pump which is always a plus and I think it looks quite classy for a highstreet foundation.

After selecting your foundation Maybelline then very helpfully gives you three concealer shades that might be right for you so you don’t have to swatch the whole lot. I went for 15 Fair which is the second lightest shade. I love this concealer, its very creamy and blends really well but the best part is it is multi purpose you can use it both under the eyes and on any problem areas; so if you aren’t a make up nerd and just want one product for everything then this concealer is for you.
