Every person and their dog is using lip crayons and I finally got my hands on the original Clinique Chubby Stick. So I thought I would see how all my other lip crayons compare to the original i’m not talking about colours but more formulation. Now I haven’t tried every lip crayon under the sun because you have to draw a line somewhere but here are the ones that I use.
The original lip crayon; it is super moisturising and stays that way and it has great colour pay off. As a brand Clinique doesn’t scent there products so I can’t comment on that but the colour range is just perfect with something for every skin tone and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more!
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balmstain in Love Sick- £7.99
I view the Revlon ones as the original high street version and the blogging world pretty much blew up over these babies! The colour range is a good mix of brights and neutrals and the ones I own have a great colour payoff and they last for a very long time on the lips without smudging. These are also moisturising when they first go on but unlike the Clinique they don’t stay that way due to the lip stain they contain. I like scented lip products and these have a great peppermint smell to them.
MUA Power Pout in Justify- £3.00
This range only has a small colour range and the colours are not true to the packaging or what you see in the bullet. I popped this on my lips and although it is moisturising it was not an orange colour at all but more of a pink shade so that’s a bit of a downside! It also has a peppermint scent although not as strong as the Revlon one.
Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Bashful-£8.00
If I had to pick one that was the closest to the Clinique chubby stick then it would be these. Although the colour range isn’t huge the formulation is super similar and it keeps you lips moisturised for a really long time and the pigmentation is fabulous. The reason I have crowned these the sleekest is because I love the packaging it’s just so simple and sleek but with that Soap&Glory twist. This has a more vanilla scent to it which I really like!
Beauty UK Posh Pout in Would I lilac to you – £2.99
I got this is a Glossybox and it’s not something I would re-purchase. It has a small colour range, doesn’t moisturise as much as the others and doesn’t have the colour pay off I would have hoped. Obviously this is a budget buy but I would recommend the MUA one over this.
Obviously there are lots on the market so if you have any suggestions let me know. The original Clinique is by far the best but I would say the Soap&Glory and Revlon ones are the best dupes!
